Move Patrick to wing?
- jmatchett383

I don't know if he can play it, but could be a good shutdown line as patty is a good two way player. less responsibility. or they could try putting him at center with g and someone. Don't want to break up the cooter line, and i liked laughton playing with hayes last game.

If he is on wing as well and his head issues come up your just switching out the wings. just spit balling

was that the 4 v 4 that went to a short PP, then lindblom hopped on.
- Peter Richards

Not sure, was that when Coots was in the box? Would have had the whole line for the pp.

Morin needs to be playing. Now is the time to try to figure out what he is. I keep seeing posts saying that it's nice to have depth on D. But how can he even be considered depth right now? He's played 20-something professional games in 2 years.
I would convince him to do the conditioning stint with the Phantoms. Telling him upfront that it is essentially a tryout for playing time with the Flyers. If he goes down there and plays within his game, and does well, then I believe he should be inserted into the Flyers lineup over Hagg for at least a couple of games (not permanently, unless he earns it). This is not a knock on Hagg. It's about finding out what Morin is. He's 24 years old now.
I would prefer this approach over having him sitting around not playing, and waiting for an injury to one of our Left Dmen, then being forced to throw the kid into NHL action as a result.

I'm a fan of Pitlick as the 12th forward, he's not slow and always seems to be in on the forecheck, plays a heavy game.

Any team looks good when you’re playing with the puck. The Flyers are out-chancing teams like Dallas and Calgary, as well as outshooting but no Execution. So the breakdowns happen within those small windows when they don’t have the puck and carrying play.
- SuperSchennBros

They played like crap in Calgary, didn't outchance them at all.

Gross.

For a team that has mostly dominated in shots and chances, he's been the fly in the ointment. Terribad in almost every single objective measure. He deserved to be scratched. Yes, Stewart's been better than him.

Because Hagg is statistically and and to the eye test, one of the worst defenseman in the league. Thinking that no one can’t beat his extremely low bar without even trying is either naive or negligent.

i would be ok with this. I don't like the idea of waiving him just to waive him. I unlike others think he would be claimed for the same tryout on another team.

Suspect that once the team's sked settles down with the travel, they'll send him on that conditioning stint. Don't want to be caught w/ only 6 available D in case of a game-day injury far from home.

Are you looking at numbers or watching the game? Stewart can't keep up for the most part, Pitlick can move well. He plays a simple game, not sure how folks think he is so bad. Maybe he looked out of place on the third line (that third line has been awful all year until this new makeup with Hayes) but he's a fine fourth line guy.

Watching every game. Pitlick's been noticeably behind the play. Thrusting him in after missing all of camp was a mistake.

I agree on this. Pitlick was out of the play often. For as much as people say Stewart is slow, I have only noticed him behind the play once or twice. I do think Stewart ends up being 13F, but that does mean he plays 40-60 games and I still like what he adds.

I’m really interested to see how Vorobyev does this time around. I have always been so impressed with his passing.

My issue with Stewart is just that aside from the occasional fight and this supposed deterrence that he brings, his game just isn't good. He's not fast, he doesn't handle, pass, or shoot the puck well. On some hits he's tried, he actually ends up n the ice because of his lack of agility (glaring example was an open-ice hit attempt last game).

I'm not saying Pitlick is a great bottom-6 player, but I feel that there are better options than Stewart in the organization.

Hopefully, with getting sent down last year, he's learned what it takes to stay up. Or at least what it takes to get sent down.

Can you be sent on a conditioning stint in the ahl if you haven’t been injured, without having to clear waivers?

Obvious reason is he is a young , cap friendly , legit low 5 or 6 dman.

Nah, Flyersbuyzz GM's know he sucks more then actual GM's.
