And yet I'm still entirely accurate in what I say.
- GreatGigInTheSky

I didn't say he played great tonight. He wasn't even that good. But he made some good saves.
My point goes beyond tonight in that you've always over-exaggerated Huch's downfalls. Your takes are irrational because you have no unbiased opinion towards the guy. If it was anyone but you, I really wouldn't care as much.
Huch is to you what Matthews is to Aetherial. I just can't take those opinions seriously.

And your opinions are akin to that of a polished dog turd; amusing in a primitive way, but overall a waste of time to look at, an amazement that someone took the effort to express it, and an actual piece of poop that nobody really asked to see.

I think it's less about winning the game for the Leafs and more about losing the game. Boston was the better team and all but those goals just aren't acceptable. They need to be stopped.

That's how I see it, anyways.

- GreatGigInTheSky

Didn't like the loss much either, couple of passengers tonight. I think Hutch was actually quite lucky a couple of posts and a disallowed goal. Refs were better but still sub standard, Chara had to punch Goat in the face to finally give the Leafs first power play against the Bruins this year. Better team won tonight, Matthews, Marner and Nylander all sucked ass. And Gig - you need to take a shower to clean yourself up after CKOUG agrees with you.

Huch has a career sv% of .907. NHL average last year was .910

Slightly below average.

Huch has a career GAA of 2.73 NHL average last year was 2.81

Slightly above average.

That's the truth. You opinion on if you like him or not is irrelevant from those statistics.

No, the truth is he (frank)ing sucks.

Those "numbers" are being propped up by what he did in 2013-2015. That was a long time ago. In the past 3 years, he's had poop numbers and played few NHL games. Why? Because he's poop. He's under .900 this year. Why? Because he's poop.

Hutch made some good saves, but his rebound control and confidence is poor. His glove was better tonight than in previous games. He's not the reason we lost.

Matthews and Marner were absolutely awful all night long. Babcock was putting them on in the o-zone only to find the puck back in the d-zone 2 seconds later. They were put on in transition as the puck moved into the o-zone, only to find the puck back in the d-zone 2 seconds later. Nylander wasn't good, but he wasn't awful like Matthews and Marner. I saw him do a few good things with the puck.

Kerfoot looked good. He made one poor pass, but I liked his game all night long. Mikheyev was ok. Not great, but ok. Kapanen is starting to look more like the player we like. Petan wasn't too bad. Holl was ok. Gravel was terrible. His decision making time is _terrible_. Max said that Marincin might be better, and I think he's right.

I get it's game 3 in 4 nights, but our best players just looked wiped out all night long.

It also could've been 2-0 if not for him. Every goal should've been saved.

He is 100% absolutely useless.

- GreatGigInTheSky

You could say that about a lot of games lol, the majority of goals are stoppable but no goalie is going to stop everything every night that is just unrealistic.

Which means (frank) all because Hutchinson has how many games the past 3 seasons?

Brilliant strategy = keep the same garbage instead of improvement.

Yep. Good comment.

My only take on hutch is that he made some good saves but his rebound control and stick handling skills are terrible. He was the reason why they got in to trouble but he also bailed himself out.
I’d give him at 5/10 tonight.

4 goals, 7 points in 6 games with the Marlies. A lot better than some garbage players they're carrying right now. But carry on.

Alright 2 guys. It's too late for me to look them up but if they are such an improvement and cheap then why haven't other teams grabbed one of them?

Also, because we can here, what happens when it's the same results?

I personally think your idea that the back up needs spot games instead of just whichever team is on the second half of the B2B.

Need to coach Hutch up a bit. (Any back up really). Should have given him the Minny game last week and Columbus last night.

Fav part of the game was the commentators making up excuses as to why calls were not made against the Bruins. That said our defensive zone work was horrible we were out cycled on every bergeron shift. Hutch although clutch on a few plays has a real hard time getting back in position once he is out. 7 defensive zone give aways. Even if the reds called this even we should have lost by 2.

Because they have more cap space to afford better back-ups and/or they already have one or are using prospects.

Shouldn't be the same results because these are two better goalies who played behind teams that didn't play defense and still put up good numbers.

If they can't get a better back-up, they need to give Hutchinson softer opponents and stop playing him against teams like the Bruins because it's stupid to do so.

They already lost points to Montreal, they lost points to Boston and they're probably going to lose more points to Montreal on Saturday again. Considering the Leafs will be fighting with both those teams for 2nd/3rd place, it's really stupid to be dropping points to those teams.

I'm dead set against overworking Andersen but it's the 1st month of the season. Play him against the important opponents now and rest him later.

Just watched the game.

Matthews invisible and 0 effort.
Nylander a wimp as always - avoid physical contact at all cost.
Marner offensively invisible - but at least quite good defensively (a few good steals and played well on the PK).
Hutchinson with a very mediocre game again.

Leafs in general seem to be afraid to play the Bruins - Bruins throw a few hits, and most Leafs players are more concerned with not being hit instead of making plays.

Positives: Kerfoot, Kapanen, Mikheyev, Freddy the Goat (playing really well) and I thought Johnsson was playing a good game, he had some jump to his play (with the exception of those 2 consecutive penalties of course). Timashov has been a very pleasant surprise as well.

Poor Rielly for being paired with Cody 'I don't know how to position myself in the d-zone' Ceci.

Muzzin Barrie pairing was ok, but unspectacular.

Holl playing well, and Gravel wasn't as bad as I thought he would be.

It's time for Dubas to make a move - starting with trading Nylander.
He's just not contributing anything apart from some easy plays.
He might be the player on this teams with the lowest hockey IQ - just gets the puck and then skates skates skates - only if a very obvious play develops, he'll make that play, but most of the time he ends up giving the puck away.

TO DO List for Dubas:

1/ 2nd line winger to play with Matthews and Mikheyev/Moore.
2/ a good #3C that can defend and bring some physicallity.
3/ a proper d-partner for Rielly.
4/ a proper backup goalie.

Nylander, Johnsson, Ceci, Bracco and a few others all available to make these deals.

It’s pretty wild how well Pasta has been. I don’t know if he can keep this pace up, but I think you’ve all gotten an idea how good he is. One of the best wingers in the league IMO

1. He wouldn't crack our top 6 right now, or top 9 when healthy.
2. Kadri plays for the Avs. JT returns, our centers are good.
3. two lefties; they never played together.
4. his season in TO was an anomaly. He's back down to career average numbers on the decline.
