Aren’t even gonna make the playoff now bird b’y!

Then keep playing Hutch and make sure they get a top-10 pick.

If the argument is that he's a (frank) up and cost us the game because he didn't get a shutout? I mean, you're entitled to your opinion. Doesn't make it a good one, but you're entitled to it.
- joel878

Better than thinking he played well and that the goals he let in weren't awful.

I didnt say concede. I just don't care if Matthews or Marner don't score three goals a piece against that line. If they break even with them, they did their job. You have to remember the defensive responsibilities they need to implicate against that line. They've done an okay job at nullifying them, but not good enough. They need to generate something, I agree, but overall I won't complain.

Wow

They were not even in the same universe as "break even". They looked like frightened children against men, against Boston, again.

Marner, Rielly and Barrie have been god awful.

Stick handling and fumbling of pucks from marner and Rielly.

I’ll give Barrie a pass for now because he’s probably still trying to learn the systems and babs is trying grilling him on the defence right now, but we’ve seen next to nothing with him in regards to offence.

Honestly, I'd say it was more that they looked disinterested more than anything.

The thought of tanking literally makes me sick.

If the Leafs miss the playoffs, I’ll probably stop being a fan. At least until they make the playoffs again. I’ve waited 28 years to see them win a cup, it has to be this core or else I’m finding something better to do with my time.

Yeah no, it sure isn't. The team scored 2 goals. Freddie needed them to score 4 to get a win on Saturday night and he had to make 43 saves. I suppose if we lost in OT that night it would have been Fred's fault for allowing a weak goal or two? Was it his fault last night?

Blaming the goalie in these scenarios does nothing but give the real (frank) up's an easy out.

Could be tired. They’ve already played 42 games this month with another back-to-back this week.

Irrational?

1st goal- Literally all he had to do was be in a set position. He wasn't and somehow the puck goes through him. Awful.

2nd goal- Have a strong glove hand and it doesn't push your hand back and go in. Awful, but probably the least worst goal of the night.

3rd goal- Where the (frank) was he going? Awful.

4th goal- All he needs to do is not let a soft rebound out to his side. (frank)ing awful!

Irrational!

And every time he (frank)ed up with the puck on his stick, it was either a goal or a lot more time spent in the D-zone.

He's a bad back-up and he needs to be replaced immediately.

Or...stop playing him against teams like Boston on the road on the back end of a back to back.

- JohnFergusonJr

Replaced by whom and with what cap space for someone better? Which 700,000 dollar goalie is so much better and available?

I watched Matthews and Marner take offensive zone faceoffs and end up hemmed in their own zone within 10 seconds a minimum of 5 times tonight.

But the coach refuses to adapt. He's still playing his run the same poop to death plan like its 2007 and it will eventually work.

- joel878

I don't think it is the coach. NO coach tells the team to play like the Leafs do, leave people uncovered, chase people around, be weak on the puck, not finish checks, skate around lost in your own zone.

This is not on Babcock.

He does have to go though because it seems pretty clear our overly-entitled, over-paid and underperforming "stars" aren't listening.

Tbh, sometimes when I smoke weed while watching I can’t really tell if they’re playing like poop, or I’m just noticing more mistakes because I’m high.

Well they beat Minnesota last Tuesday who are beating the 3rd best team in the league right now. Does that count?

Not in the least. I've said that they played bad, too.

Marner was atrocious. Matthews looked disinterested. Bill Ny looked really good skating out there until he had to do something else with the puck. Kerfoot I thought played well early but then crashed and burned.

Kap, Mikheyev, La Chèvre, and Muzzin were probably the only guys that I thought had a good game. Maybe Moore, too.

But that doesn't change the fact that the 4 goals that Hutch allowed, 3 if I'm being generous, were on him.

They beat them on Saturday. Yeah, it took Andersen to face 46 shots, but they got the W.

A) Played the wrong goalie

B) Got the wrong back-up to be playing that strategy

- JohnFergusonJr

It’s just not going to work with Pansy's approach to the roster with a farmer coach.

It's unfair to say it's entirely on him, you're right about that.

He is accountable for his inability to adapt during the game however, in my opinion. He's to predictable. If our overpaid entitled stars arent listening, pine their asses. Adapt.

Not only were Matthews Marner completely neutered out of the gate, and he refused to alter it... Their PP was completely stagnant. The 2nd PP scored the goal in limited time. Babs actually takes a timeout to get the exact same PP back on the ice.

Roll 4 lines dig deep bare down all that BS, Cassidy loves it because he's going to look like a complete genius just operating under the assumption that what he sees in minute 1 is going to be what he sees in minute 57.

Alright, fair. Doesn't change the idea that I don't think it's the real story at the end of the day. I think Fred loses that game to, and it's not his fault either.
