Great win last night. Just a shame that Farabee and Vorobyev weren't already up helping the team against Dallas on Saturday.
- Feanor

As much as I would have liked them up earlier, it's nice to know management was somewhat quick to bring them up, not sure that happens in years past.

While Elliott has played well and last night was a big win, there's no need to ride him right now. I also want to get hart back in there to get his confidence back up etc. Don't want him going too long without getting a chance to atone for a couple of off starts. I think given the chance, he'll get his mojo back. I always forget how young he is and how new he is to the league.

Yes, and any goaltender’s job is easier when their team is scoring. I hope this breakout game leads to more consistency in the finishing column. They have all the reasons on paper and the small showings so far to be a successful team in a playoff spot. Fighting for points in this marathon of a season, you need more than one goalie.

agree with the statement of MAF playing as well. don't think he gets juked that bad on raffl's breakaway or possible the hayes wrap around. who knows though. MAF has been streaky good and bad

I dont know. I'd go Elliott personally. He played exceptionally well and while Hart is our future, I think riding the hot goalie is what needs to be done. Have to take advantage of a goalie when he's on fire.
- xShoot4WarAmpsx

I agree. I know Hart is the popular choice but he hasn't looked his best recently.

This team needs to muster up some wins so I'd stick with Elliot off of last night's performance.

Totally get going with Hart after beating Chicago to start the season. Tough call IMO.

Finally, we got some lucky bounces. The Dallas game wasn't Carter Hart's fault. Dallas got the lucky bounces, we didn't.

You can't let a player in alone, they will score. Bernie Parent gave up goals if they were in alone too.

I posted this before, but I really liked how Boston managed their tending last year. Halak was brought in a solid vet, and he played a ton/very well. There wasn't much of a drop off. This allowed Tuuka to stay fresh for playoffs IMO. In Previous years, they had rode him more in the re g season and I found he looked tired come playoffs. Mind you, Boston plays great d, so that doesn't hurt, but there wasn't much drop off in performance. Point being you need two good goalies contributing to navigate the epic marathon NHL season.

It was a bad move because they didn't have a proper center for the 4th line for the first 6 games.
- Feanor

They had a young player who made the team out of camp. They gave him a chance. This is after the fact commentary. It was not close to the biggest issue with the teams early struggles.

Hagg is a more physical MacDonald. He's done nothing in two years to suggest he deserves a permanent spot in the lineup. The team gets caved in when he's on the ice, even though he's not getting the really hard matchups. Why is it so hard to believe that Morin could do better than this?

Past season are irrelevant. The fact is that Haag is not getting caved in this season and is playing well. No reason to put Morin in over Haag now.

At a certain point, you either jump for or squat on, concerning players entry to the Bigs.
I'm tired of waiting on Morin. I am unimpressed with this number one pick. Nothing but loving by the organization as he struggled with his particular fated injuries and extended recoveries has left me wanting to know what he IS.
I was excited by his drafting. Big and a bit mean is something I would like to have on the ice.
After all, I'm a Flyers fan.

For sure, I think Fletcher or AV one mentioned them with their goalie plans for this season too. I hope they stick to it. I think during the summer many posters mentioned how many games Elliott has played each season in recent years, but I think if they are spaced better and he remains healthy, we can get more from him. He can play enough to be a 1b tandem. 32 - 38 games. Really even if we end up needing Lyon to fill in, I think we are in a much better place with depth.

There were a few plays last night from Hagg that left me scratching my head. Like when he was pressured and decides to whip it around the boards to no one, except right to a vegas player. I just don't see why we wouldn't want Morin to get a few real game looks.. So he just sits until someone gets injured? That's kind of unfair. What if he plays well and actually becomes the player we hoped when we drafted him 11th overall? We will never know with him sitting in the press box.

Because nothing I've seen of Morin indicates that he's not just another Hagg. A less experienced one.

You take the wins where you can get them. It might have been a different story if Marc-Andre Flurey is in net. That game last night made me think very little of the Gold Knights.

Really? Smith and Marcheassault were awesome. Their forecheck was smothering. If Elliott isn't standing on his head, it would have been a 7-6 game.

This. If anyone should be in for Hagg its Myers. Morin, sadly, is a bust at this point and I'm not sure why we kept him around

No question. Mark Stone may be the best winger in hockey. Vegas could of easily matched the Flyers in goals. They didn't get good goaltending.

Yes. Morin should be in LHV, making up for lost time, instead of sitting on his ass even more. Really strange asset management to keep him up.

As we all know, life isn’t fair. It would be my personal preference to get Morin in some games even with the numbers. Maybe use 7 d on the front half of back-to-backs. He played especially well with Myers in preseason. Maybe they make a trade or maybe there’s injuries. However, it’s tough, the situation is what it is. Hopefully, he gets a chance to show himself this season.

That's self defeating. Even if that is true, there are no guarantees. There is absolutely no chance of Morin developing and improving into an NHL regular sitting in the press box and just practicing. I assume they're just waiting for an injury to play him. If a significant injury happens to a defenseman, will they bypass him and go to Myers?

Common, his shine wore off a looooong time ago, and half the league is at the cap limit. He's a bottom-pairing guy at best. Left-handed. Demand is not high.
