Blue party had the best plan for the environment issue. Every other party wanted to spite their nose to save their face. Talk about going green which would cost a fortune but kill the biggest part of our GBP. The blue party wanted to prop up the biggest part of our GDP to pay for infrastructure to go green which is by far the smartest and only logical course of action. - HealthyScratch6
Yeah... No.
The biggest industry of the economy as of 2017 was... Real Estate at 13%, followed by Manufacturing at ~10.4%. Oil & Gas was 3rd at 8.2%.

...seems like he won every part of Ontario that he could hope to...

Unless you thought the Conservatives could ever win downtown Toronto or the gerrymandered Bramladesh/Mississauga riding's. - AdamFrench
From what I gather it was the Conservatives hope to take away some of those 905 seats. They could win the Power by getting decent gains in the maritimes and Québec, but their biggest hopes were in Ontario for sure. They ended up gaining what, 2 ridings there?
Now I'm no ontario expert, but most commentators said Ford was a big factor in yesterday's result. They hid him for a month, he literally did not speak to the press during the federal elections, but the damage was done. A lot of people are angry with him in Ontario and people who could have voted NDP and voted Liberal to block a conservative government. If people voted NDP instead, you might get more conservatives MPs(is it MPs at the federal level?) in Toronto.
Most talking heads on Radio-Canada said that the election would be won in Ontario, but that the majority would be determined in Québec and it seems to me it was fairly accurate. |

Apparently it doesn't get traction in the ballots, something like 11% of Québec has that as their 1st preoccupation. At least, that's not the issue that will make a government. |

Anything touching Brampton (half of Mississauga) goes Red no matter what. Downtown Toronto flips between Liberal and NDP with a pocket or two of Blue. I'm sure they hoped to flip things...but they were dumb to think so. Quebec won the election by destroying the NDP and Liberals. |

Well it did seem possible that conservatives would break through, considering they have a provincial tory government in Ontario. But Ford ruined the party I think.
The liberals actually did better than some expected in Québec. I believe they won here in Sherbrooke, closely in front of Dussault who was elected by the Orange wave. The bloc wasn't far either. But this Dussault kid must pray on Layton's grave every week, he was almost as much of a pole candidate at Ruth-Ellen Brosseau was
19 years old politics student, gets elected for two mandates so he now has his Federal MP pension lol
I've got to say I was a big doubter when he was voted in but he did his homework and rarely looked like a fool. |

It's an issue that no leader can fix on there own. It's beyond borders. Canada isn't going to get china, india, singapore, malaysia, russia, nigeria or brazil to stop their mass polluting. Also every solution to this "existential crisis" involves increasing taxes and cost of living |

It was quite odd to see Singh celebrate losing fifteen ridings...
Actually, the Bloc also holds the balance of power. They have worked with the Liberals in the past when Martin was in power. They're not as natural as the NDP when it comes to allies, but Trudeau might need them on some issues... |

she will have zero power and she is still covered by the parliamentary privilege so she can't speak much about the SNC story. |
