I find it bizarre that they will happily scramble the forward lines every game, and swap guys in and out from the Phantoms, but Morin can't get a game no matter how little Hagg contributes from the back end.
And if Fletcher hadn't paid back Stewart for whatever favor he owed him with this totally undeserved contract, they could have called up Myers for tonight's game to play instead of Hagg. - Feanor
Is the other team scoring when Hagg is on the ice? No need to take him out |

There's a line that makes me want to throw up in my mouth. Flashbacks of last year when it was used and they spent the majority of the time in the defensive zone. |

By that logic JVR should be a healthy scratch cause he hasn't scored yet. |

They spent very little time together. Mostly at 6V5.

It wasn't used much if at all last year. It was JVR-G-TK that had a long run together. |

JVR and Giroux have a lot of chemistry playing together and so do G and Voracek so on paper the line should be able to put some points up. Only thing I'm worried about is that they're putting to much on G's plate defensively but if they start them in the o zone in most scenarios I could see it working out. - FreshFlyer
It’s good they are trying this out on a home game so that they can adjust matchups better. It’s worth trying. If it doesn’t work defensively and if Farabee settles into the game, they could switch them to give G some help.

That's right it was Konecny...
At least Voracek is better defensively. As long as Giroux and Voracek carry and do all the work maybe JvR will get a couple slam dunkers. |

They'd be better off playing 11F - 7D than dressing Stewart. Give Voracek, TK and Farabee extra shifts on the 4th line RW. |

again playing an aging veteran who can't push the pace of play, who can barely keep up with the pace of play, over a young prospect makes no sense. |

I just hope Patrick can come back in the next month, personally would love to see a forward lineup of:
Size, defensive responsibility and offensive punch down the middle. Skating down the right side and net presence (minus Giroux who is Giroux) down the left.
Giroux-Hayes-Farabee
I really don't think Joelbee deserves to be placed on the top line, but it would be nice to see what he can do with higher end talent.
Lindblom-Couturier-Konecny
I just love the makeup of this line. Personally I believe Couturier is the most important forward on this team, even more than Giroux. Konecny looks tremendous early so far, looking like a buzz saw always skating and never stopping.
JvR-Patrick-Voracek
The best part of this line...hopefully good matchups against other teams bottom six lines. If JvR can't score with those two then I don't think Gretzky could help him. Again it is all about matchups and the 3 perfect guys that could use it the most.
Raffl-Laughton-Pitlick
Hopefully a little bit of offensive punch now and again, but most importantly not getting scored against above all. Enough depth in top 9 to rotate other players like Voroybev, Rubtsov and NAK on the line throughout the season.

The Flyers are playing two rookies tonight.

Interesting they are benching Pitlick
I guess they want that staged fight against Ryan Reaves at some point in the first 5 minutes.

Wow, two rookies. They must be the only team in the league doing that!
No wait. They're actually just the only team in the league using a guy who was in the EIHL last year as a regular forward. |

Stewart wasn't in the NHL last year at 31 for a reason. And if Fletcher wasn't the GM he still wouldn't be.

Once again, noone hates them or is blaming them for losses. We just think there is a better use of that roster spot. Why not dress the best possible roster? |

It's tough being so crazy that you think Phil Myers would make the Flyers a better team playing RHD on the 3rd pairing than Robert Hagg. Maybe we can get a group deal on a month at a mental institution. |

But why complain about something irrelevant as Pitlick or Stewart when the lack of scoring by our top 2 lines is way more urgent? Its like complaining about a scratch on your hardwood floor while your house is flooding. You should be focused on the flooding. |

not really sure why that keeps being said. i haven't seen one person say stewart is to blame for any of the losses so far. they'd just rather have someone else in his spot. |

Once again showing how there's no such thing as a 13th forward who just sits in the stands. There will always guys in the top 12 who get hurt, or have slumps in form. |

well, this is one of the games that they signed stewie for. even if he gets his face smashed, no one else will really have to worry about him, well as much anyway. |
