is there mention of the midget that shall not be named
- SabresFaninIndiana

Yes. At the very end.

I talked with *Censored* (RW, Montreal) briefly about the freshman goal-scoring record. Per College Hockey Inc., it is 43, set by Chuck Delich with Air Force in 1974. *Censored* said it would be tough to match that. He didn’t say it couldn’t be done.

I'm not so much concerned about last year so much as it is only October. The NHL is full of good teams that play poorly and bad teams that play well in October every year. That said, banking points early is never a bad thing either.

i would like to see the PP get going again.. have teams figured out how to stop it or are we just getting to fancy? it doesn't seem like that cross ice pass for the one timer has been open lately. also teams being more aggressive on the puck handler has really messed with the timing.

i just wonder if teams adjust to our style and it makes us more of an average team and then Hutton comes back down to earth and we are a team that is fighting for a playoff spot. I do think the roster and scheme is better than last year so i don't think we will see another epic of all collapses again

Yost weighs in about Sabres showing no improvement and they're definitely worse than last year (not really)

It's probably a little bit of both. There was an article in the Athletic a couple of weeks ago about how the Sabres are using two guys in the slot on the power-play, and how it opens up the cross-ice pass because now the defender has to worry about the guy in the high slot as well as the wings. The problem is, the Sabres now seem to be only going for the cross-ice pass. They may have to start feeding the guy in the high slot some more to put that high defender to sleep.

Yeah - he's mentioned in the article right after a certain Sabres prospect who's feeding him

This Hischier deal with NJ is going to raise the price for Reinhart a lot. 7 years 7.25M yikes. What’s that make Reinhart worth?
Hischier
2017–18 82 20 32 52
2018–19 69 17 30 47

Reinhart
2015–16 79 23 19 42
2016–17 79 17 30 47
2017–18 82 25 25 50
2018–19. 82 22 43 65

Yeah, he’s three years younger, but you have to think Reinhart will want at least that much and probably more.

I was optimistically hoping we could get Reinhart at close to the Schenn contract amount(6.5/)

We don’t lose at home. Eichel with a big night leading the Sabres to a 4-1 win.

Well, to a large degree visions of a repeat of last season are still dancing in people's head.
Spare me all the reasons why it is different this season, the fact is it is Buffalo sports with 50 years of history of the other shoe falling.

Still... why not enjoy it now,
instead of all the b!tching & complaining that goes on?

It’s been a fun start for both teams

If you want to stop team from pressuring so hard up top, you have to do something down low. They need to adjust.
