There's really nothing wrong w/ the quality of the chances they're getting. Just look at the Edmonton game... they got A+ chance after chance: slot, circles, net-front, etc. Flyers are 2nd in the league at expected goals per 60.

What's wrong is that they currently sit dead last in the league in SH%. But before anybody shouts sniper, this same group of players had the 11th best ES SH% last season.

So, I'm not ready to panic. A team that historically has shot decently, and is getting a lot of quality chances is bound to start filling the net. Sooner than later.

Defensively tho... the guys being leaned on to stop the opposition aren't doing well enough. Hart hasn't always looked sharp. I'm more worried about how they've looked on that side of the puck.

When the Flyers start scoring 3 or more goals a game, we will see. 1-0 wins are rare.

There weren't many quality chances in the Dallas game. I don't want to here process or how statistically it will turn around. There are no merit badges or moral victories in the NHL. They could play offensively 100 games like they did against Dallas and unless the goaltending is incompetent, they wouldn't score much. Not all shots are created equal. Have to dig deeper in analysis that just look at historical data on a spread sheet.

Bill that first goal was entirely on provorov. He’s your horse and needs to start playing like it. 6.75 per for that? Top defensemen get beat from time to time but usually not looking like that
- Just5

I think you have Niskanen confused with Provorov.

Only speaking for myself. I wasn’t in the stadium. I don’t have a problem with Stewart fighting. I assume that’s what he’s there for. He did his job and it was a pretty good fight. It just didn’t get me fired up. There’s no emotion in a fight like that for me. I know a lot of people just like to see people punch each other. I’d rather see some authentic emotion that developed out of hard competition.

I agree with you, it's a nothing burger. Staged fights don't do squat. It's archaic and an unnecessary part of the game. Spur of the moment and reactionary fights are fine. What happened last night is as extinct as the dinosaurs.

The Stewart fight was exactly what was wrong with the signing. So obsolete. The fight did nothing. Even while I want to keep fighting in the game, a staged fight like this brings no excitement. It is just a waste of time.

Crowd certainly didn't respond that way.

Personally I have no thoughts either way but I'm not going to point to that fight as some negative.

Hockey is first and foremost entertainment. Take that fight away, there was no reason for any of us to continue watching last night beyond the result of that fight. It was certainly a waste of my evening but at least the fight was a good one, which got the crowd into it.

It’s just silly listening to the dinosaurs on here complain about the dinosaur way. It was okay once upon a time but it’s not okay now.

If I’m wasting my time, energy and money on going to Well Fargo to watch this crap, the least you can give me is a fight.

I don’t understand vorobyev over rubstov. Rubstov looked better in camp. Seems to have continued it.

At least their bringing farabee up. Minuscule leash for twarynski. Kid should not be expected to hold down a 3rd line spot.

All of this is questionable. Farabee won the 3rd line spot in camp but send him down and put twarynski on the 3rd line. Sign Stewart. Head shaking stuff

I feel like I’m order to get along with the people on this board, you have to agree to their singler views.

The fight did make the crowd who spends their hard earned money happy. Flyers played like crap and the only thing being harped on is, Chris Stewart getting into a staged fight.

It’s pathetic.

I don’t. Like I said before niskanen got beat by an incredible move. Provorov turned over a puck on what should’ve been a routine outlet/clear

All I can think is Vorobyov has some NHL experience over Rubstov. I haven't seen enough of the Phantoms this year to really comment on Rubstov yet.

Yeah maybe give vorobyev one more look/shot at the big club. See if he can bring a consistent effort while buying a bit more time for rubstov, while possibly giving him more opportunity/minutes in the A

I’ve never been a Fletcher fan. I think the Stewart signing is the least of our issues. You can go all the way back when he signed Thomas Vanek to a crazy deal in 2014 and forced to buy him out two years later. The Kevin Hayes signing looks like a repeat of this Incompetence. The Justin Braunn trade has us throwing away two draft picks and forcing a hungry kid like Phil Myers out of the line up. Outside of Niskanen, I’ve seen no positive improvement, just two steps back.

124K cap hit is why Rube is still in the A and Misha is in the show

Everything else you bring up is all mismanagement of assets and the cap
