The Flyers have played 6 games so far and people on here are reacting as if the season is already over. They are going to be a solid team, you can tell the effort is there. If they keep playing the way they're playing they are going to win a fair amount of games this season. Also no way Giroux and JVR are going to be this snake bitten all season , they're both going to breakout soon as they've been creating a lot of chances.

people have used that defense every year and they never get over it

it's kind of sickening the abuse people will accept from this team

The energy was in the building whether you want to admit it or not after the fight happened. That was the whole purpose stewart fought the 6'7 giant (and won). The Flyers then heavily outplayed the stars, just couldn't bury anything, with hart sitting too deep in his net getting sniped with a backhander. It wasnt a pretty game but to sit in this chat crying all day and night about how you guys hate fights and it makes your tummies upset is entertaining to me.

What abuse lol, you aren't being forced to watch. Also kind of laughable that a team playing poorly could be considered a form of abuse dude, it's a game at the end of the day we all want the Flyers to win but it isn't that serious 😂

It's like people forget that the Blues were last place in January just a season ago and won the cup. If the Flyers make it in this season which I believe they will because there's just to much talent on the roster and in the organization not to, they should have a solid chance at advancing and going on a bit of a run. Once the Flyers get Patrick back they are going to be a pretty tough team to match up against 5 on 5 in my opinion. They have the depth you need to win with in this league if everyone is healthy , hopefully Patrick can get back by the start of November and the team can start rolling a bit here.

I also believe Fletch isn't afraid to add some pieces if need be so if there's something missing at the deadline and we're in a decent position I think we'll see some activity to make the team better in the present which is something we haven't seen while Hextall was at the helm. People on this site just love to irrationally complain about every little thing unfortunately. It's hockey not like the Flyers were going to go 82-0 or anything , I'd rather them struggle now and get hot later on closer to playoff time.

This is what everyone needs to afraid of. I can not think of one hockey trade that worked out in his favor. We all know he traded for Dubnyk, that was a hope and a prayer, he admitted as much himself.

I'll give you an example let's say someone gets injured throughout the season like JVR and the Flyers need a 3rd line winger around the deadline. Hextall probably would have not made a move to fill that hole , Fletch likely wouldn't be against moving a pick and a b prospect to do so. I wouldn't be against him doing that and I don't think any of us should be.

You're right there but it's way to early to tell if a team sucks 6 games into a season. I mean does anyone believe Edmonton who is 8-1 is for real. There's a lot of games to go , if the Flyers are still this mediocre by the 25 game mark them you have an argument. At this point not so much.

If Frost or Farabee is not NHL ready after 70 percent of the season then this team is in worse shape then anyone could of thought

It definitely doesn’t seem like “we all want the flyers to win.” Some posters only seem happy when they’re losing.

I think, at least last I read, that he is still week to week and is not officially practicing with the team yet.

This.

yes we are massively outshooting the opposition, but the shot quality leaves a lot to be desired. This team is not getting to the net or "inside" as AV calls it.

We know this is not what AV wants. Yes he wants shots but as we saw in the Behind The Glass series, he wants these guys to get in to the slot, around the crease, to the net and get those dirty goals.

Its maddening every single game year in and year out watching this collection of players play a perimeter game. Some people blamed Hak saying that was what he wanted them to do. I would say that theory has been blown out of the water by watching what we know AV wants, and seeing what is actually happening.

Its the players.

There's really nothing wrong w/ the quality of the chances they're getting. Just look at the Edmonton game... they got A+ chance after chance: slot, circles, net-front, etc. Flyers are 2nd in the league at expected goals per 60.

What's wrong is that they currently sit dead last in the league in SH%. But before anybody shouts sniper, this same group of players had the 11th best ES SH% last season.

So, I'm not ready to panic. A team that historically has shot decently, and is getting a lot of quality chances is bound to start filling the net. Sooner than later.

Defensively tho... the guys being leaned on to stop the opposition aren't doing well enough. Hart hasn't always looked sharp. I'm more worried about how they've looked on that side of the puck.

Nah, none are happy when the Flyers lose. Some are just more in their element. Sadly, when we win, some don’t allow themselves to be happy because they no longer believe the Flyers will be successful anymore. Emotional-scarred hockey fandom, not abuse.
