The Stewart fight was exactly what was wrong with the signing. So obsolete. The fight did nothing. Even while I want to keep fighting in the game, a staged fight like this brings no excitement. It is just a waste of time.
- bighandsome91

yea that fight kept the flyers from scoring

Giroux the "best player in the world" doesn't have a goal yet i guess that's stewart's fault right?

All I can think is Vorobyov has some NHL experience over Rubstov. I haven't seen enough of the Phantoms this year to really comment on Rubstov yet.
- hereticpride

Plain and simple, Vorobyev is a 3rd year pro and already has a little bit of NHL experience. He's been engaged in games so far with the Phantoms this season -- which is the No. 1 knock him, that he doesn't consistently play with enough focus, energy and competitiveness -- and has played well.

Rubtsov has played quite well for the Phantoms, but still has fewer than 20 games of pro experience. With LV, he's playing PP and PK. They still want him to improve on faceoffs before he's called up at play C in the NHL and to just see a little lengthier body of work.

So I am guessing Vorobyev has greatly improved on his Face-off % of 35.2 from his 15 game NHL stint last year?

Having a plug like Stewart on the ice, at any time degrades the lineup. It takes time away from someone with skill, who could, in turn, help Giroux score his first of the season.

124K cap hit is why Rube is still in the A and Misha is in the show

Everything else you bring up is all mismanagement of assets and the cap

Dear lord. That is really something. I can’t believe how tight to the cap he got

With Farabee and Misha up and Tarwynski down they have roughly 20K in cap space

Cap friendly has the glue guy and fighter extraordinaire Stewie at 753,757.

I'm thinking that would be impossible since he hasn't played any NHL games since.

In the world of Hextall, what would have been an acceptable time frame as a fan and a business to actually see some tangible results with the Flyers?
- opeth_pa

Depends on what your definition of “tangible” means. They made the playoffs twice in his four full years. His second year they had 41 wins 96 points. By his fourth year they had a 42 win 98 point season and Konecney, Provorov, Sanheim, Patrick, Frost, Ratcliffe, Farabee and O’Brien in their prospect pool.

What do you think he should’ve accomplished in four years? There was little cap space to work with and no prospects to speak of for trading. Trading picks wasn’t an option either.

Building takes time.

I don’t. Like I said before niskanen got beat by an incredible move. Provorov turned over a puck on what should’ve been a routine outlet/clear
- Just5

That's wrong. Provorov was double teamed on the puck with no clear outlet. The puck was knocked off of his stick. The fault there is on Niskanen, not Provorov. You had them mixed up and are now trying to spin out of it.
