Just checked out CapFriendly and the only Oilers signed past next season are McDavid, Draisaitl, Neal, Klefbom and Koskinen. Add only Nuge, Chiasson, Khaira, Larsson and K. Russell to next seasons team. So everyone basically, but Nurse this year and Nuge next so that helps fit both.

Good news is with a buyout of Russell after this year and possibly Koskinen after next year, and the likes of Bouchard, Benson, Jones hopefully able to contribute on ELC's next year and if guys like Persson, Nygard and Sheahan do well and are able to be kept on cheap deals, should be lots of room to resign the right people while hopefully bringing in a top 6 winger and decent goalie while filling out the rest of the depth.

This is including a Kris Russell buyout, and hopefully some two-way depth defence signings. If P. Russell was resigned instead of Sheahan then Khaira moves to 4C. I hope Nygard succeeds and stays, I like his speed. Yamamoto/Benson have to make it at some point.... right? If they can be ready and add more wingers and letting Draisitl center his own line and go with 3 scoring lines.

Of course bringing back Kassian is an option, but I think his scoring off McDavid may put his price too high with that $$$ better spent on free agents, as much as I do love Kass. Hopefully a couple wingers and good goalie could be bought with the remaining money and a Puljujarvi trade. Also option of going with Bear in top 4 and trading Larsson in last year of deal and bringing up Jones as 7D for extra cap room.
