Not one friggin save.

It's all Chris Stewarts fault and his Flyer Ways.

The Stewart signing was the disruption in the Force last night.

Not everyone. Elliott and Niskanen played well. It's all of the other guys, even Hart as he didn't do jack poop last night.
- jmatchett383

Hart did his job last night. The others that did, you could count on one hand following a wood shop accident

wtf? What is this based on?
- jmatchett383

Not sure. I wasn't talking about him though, if that's what he thinks.

Edit: Actually I read Joegrief at the top of the quote and immediately thought he posted the original comment. My bad.

I read the first several posts and began to look around to see where the camera's were. I thought I was being punked. Holy s#!t it's one friggin loss.

Suddenly a loss means everyone sucks again.

- hockeylover

Haha that made me laugh. Schizo Flyers fans we are. Tonight, we'll win and be on cloud 9!!

It's good that Moose played well after such a long stretch without game action. Hopefully this bodes well for the tandem, and we'll have to lose our minds over some other aspect of team play..

Honestly, I’d rather have Bunnaman back in the lineup tonight. At least he can keep up with the pace of play and he should be pretty motivated after being a healthy scratch.

Also Morin needs to come in for Hagg. Hagg was fumbling the puck all night and I lost count of how many times he iced it. Might as well give the big guy a shot, he can’t be any worse.

Sanheim should be on pp1.

He's not even on PP2.

More icing than the tastykake bakery.
Get Farabee here now.
Get Myers here now.
Try controlled zone entries for once.
At least goaltending looks good.

Against Dallas on Saturday I'd like to see this lineup.

Giroux-Couturier-Voracek
Lindblom-Hayes-Konecny
JVR-Laughton-Farabee
Twarynski-Raffl-Pitlick
Stewart

Provorov-Braun
Sanheim-Niskanen
Morin-Ghost
Hagg

I'm not a fan of Raffl playing in the middle, but thanks to the Stewart signing they can't recall an actual center like Rubtsov or Vorobyev to play 4C unless they demote Twarynski (which would be harsh) or waive someone.

You're discounting the effects of the travel whereas you shouldn't.
- Hextall271

Professional hockey players are used to travel. There are numerous teams who travel twice as much as the Flyers do. I think that's giving it too much blame for last night.

I don't disagree, but Ghost has been really bad thus far. I'm a huge fan of his, and it's only been 4 games, but his decision making and plays with the puck are not indicative of his first 3 seasons, even the 16/17 "down" year.

I'm not saying he's terrible and trade him, and I know his bread and butter is being a PP QB, but right now he maybe could use a reset. Not a benching, but maybe just tell him that he needs to re-earn his PP time Something with him is not right.

- jmatchett383

I agree he hasn't had a strong start to the season but he is not the only one. With a few exceptions, the entire team was bad last night. Countless icings, plays flubbed, passes off the mark. They simply weren't sharp last night.

Sorry,MJL.....I've been saying this for years. Watch other teams play each other. They can skate, pass and score. They do not handle the puck like it is a grenade.
Dump it in, dump it out, ice the puck is our game

- DaveofYork

I'm sure you have. The point is that when the Flyers are playing well over a period of time, you won't be around saying it. Or anything else.

Ghost was horrid last night, drop passes to the other team, passes to no one, jesus. Really like Nisk and Braun early on.

Last year and this off season. The Flyers PP is predictable. Teams know what they're going to do. They need to change it. Four games in, the Flyers need to go back to how the PP was last year.

Yeah, I don’t like Raffl at center either, so though it sucks for the kid, I’d demote Twarynski and put Rubtsov between Raffl and Pitlick. Obviously as soon as Patrick returns, I’d move him to 3C and drop Laughton to the 4th line.

The played with G on the right quite a bit last year, too, and it was also bad then. He has a great one timer, but he can't use it on the right side.

You dont get used to travel. Travelling a lot doesnt make you immune to the effects like jet lag. Perhaps you can handle it better but at the same time the flyers arent a team that travels around the world often. It was said they travelled 17,000 miles or kilometers cant remember which up to their arrival on vancouver

ok...fair enough, we'll see. I want to be wrong about this (as I said before), but I only see mediocrity until there is a major turnover of this roster

Did anyone keep count, or did the commentators mention the total number of icings?

Slow/sloppy play aside, the sheer number of icings felt like more than I'd seen from this team in a long long time.
