Ghost was horrid last night, drop passes to the other team, passes to no one, jesus. Really like Nisk and Braun early on.

What are JVR and V pacing rates? Trending based on 4 games stats makes no sense.

Let's look at it when we have a larger sample size.

Ghost needs a sports psychologist and may need to get the guys number who Hart works with.

- bird_dog_pa

Well, Ghost said in the past he performs best when he's out there free-wheeling and having fun, not caring what anyone says or thinks. And that's the complete opposite of where he finds himself now.

Also fitting on the silence from R Wilson on last years exit interview pertaining to Ghost.

Not sure where his head is, but he's a freaking mess. Still early though, and he should be able to sort it out. He'll come around or he'll be somewhere else.

That's not encouraging. I want you guys to say he's just had a slow start but will soon rack up points and PP points and be a plus player.

I haven't watched any Flyers games. Is he losing it?

- Zezel

The whole team is running a little rough at the moment. New coach and system? Travel fatigue? Combination? Hard to say.

I’d say that things will start clicking a bit better as time goes on, and if they don’t, AV will have to do his coaching to right the ship. Jake’ll come around.

I'm mild on Braun. Defensively and on the PK he's been pretty good, but he has had some big puck handling issues, even aside from last night.

Then again, aside from Nikanen and Provorov, none of the D have really played better than mediocre.

Konecny on pace for 143 points. Seems like decent value.

Also, based on a 1-game sample, Matt Niskanen is on pace to score 79 goals this season.

Last night, they were outworked. Badly.

The first page of this thread reminded me of Robin Williams' schizophrenia routine.
No, it didn't.
Shut up.
No, you shut up.
Both of you shut up.
Stay out of this, you don't know what you're talking about.

The trip at the start of the season for the Flyers was crazy huh. Good to know. I'm gonna hang on to him for a bit and see what happens. I feel like Philly's PP should generate points.

Asides from last night, all the damn icings from them, the D core has been fine. Just need to start finishing scoring chances, need some chemistry to start building quick. I'm ready to abort Jake-Hayes-G, give me G-Coots-TK, JVR, Hayes-Jake, and figure out the bottom 6.

Ghost has not been the Ghost of past for a while. His main weapons where shiftiness, ability to hold the O blue line, and a shot. He has not presented them yet this year.
Worrisome? Yes! Let's see if new coaches can help him improve.

Looks to me like the team is working hard. The effort is there. I remember game 1 of the finals against the Oilers in 85, the Flyers were on them at every turn. the Oilers were smothered. Difference is when the Flyers got the puck last night they couldn't execute. The Flames played a strong fore checking game similar to what the Flyers are trying to do this year. The type of game AV wants to play takes top conditioning and this early schedule is not helping. Hope the Flyers play a good game tonight then get back to Philly to recuperate and work on things for the home stand. Voracek and Giroux are going to come around. Ghost looks lost but is skating hard for what that is worth. Provorov is a horse and I have no concerns about him. Konecny is playing well. The goaltending looks solid. Just have to string a few wins together, getting off to a better start than previous years. Fletcher hinted at trying the young guys with call ups early. Let's see what happens. Only early yet but have to get the lineup settled to move forward with the best units. Playing games is the only way to figure it out and that will take a bit of time. Again, I am happy with the effort but not with the execution. The team does look faster to me.

As long as he doesn’t hurt you with horrible +/- (if your pool counts it), hang on for a while.

Funny he's getting singled out when Jake looked far worse on the PP imo
- hereticpride

Sanheim should be on pp1. He actually moves around with or without the puck. All ghost has been doing for over a year is stand at top and pass to either wing.... and shoot into defender because even then he can’t slide side to side to create a little lane to get pick to net. Don’t know if it’s him or coaches telling him to play that way but when Sanheim was on pp2 he would move and slide so leads me to believe it’s ghost.

I thought it was the huge contract he signed, his inability to stay healthy, and a complete nosedive in offensive production.

And all along, it was because he was having fun.

he's very easily been the flyers best forward. that guy often has no clue what he's talking about though.
- Ftown19125

Never denied his offensive talents or him being a good player at times
But he is also high risk you will see this against Edmonton today
If they play similar like in Calgary dont be surprised if we will see 6 or 7 goals against Flyers and Konecny a -3

This is my first time replying on this website and im going to be truthful and honest, do you bums really want to talk about chris stewart and what other bums they have on this team. Do you guys actually watch hockey besides the flyers and realize that this is the same team we have watched for the last 8 plus years. They dont understand how to adapt to the new game and maybe it's probably because they dont have the players too adapt. It doesnt matter what coach they have, they have no speed, no skill and teams that know that they have no chance. They have no transition , have no system, when do you ever see them score a goal that looks like it was based off of skill or system. Its the same crap every year, dump and chase pay along the boards (which they suck) play it to the point and pray to go it goes through 6 players or hits someone to give them an opportunity. They are exactly like the philles of the nhl. JVR is irrelevant and we spent 7 mil a year for a guy they knew wasnt good enough when they first had him. Hayes is a 3rd liner on any good team and we spent 7 mil a year. G and Voracek do not have the speed too have these guys so they try to do too much or cant do anything, instead they would rather play half there team that are bums and can "grind", its pathetic. They have a lack of talent and still think the can play the "Flyer way" instead of letting Farabee and Frost and let them deal with the growing pains, if you have the speed and talent you will adjust after awhile. Id rather them be no playoff contention but look like somewhat exciting to watch then have a team that is so boring to watch and them fall 5 points behind the playoffs. Its bad hockey and i blame the talent evaluation from the front office. My 2 cents
- rmcnamee08

The only teal thing I’ll agree with you for sure is the dump and chase mentality with this team does not work. The worst part of it is they do it while standing at the blue line with little to no speed to get in on the forecheck

Not everyone. Elliott and Niskanen played well. It's all of the other guys, even Hart as he didn't do jack poop last night.
