How is he related to hockey?

I think you should backread a little for some context.

That's what the trap does. Doesn't mean they were terrible if the other team barely had the puck because their only trying to clog the middle. Looked bad, was boring to watch but Minnesota wasn't doing anything that period aside from one shot that found its way in
- harps43

It is terrible if they purposely played a style that minimizes their skill and speed advantage over the other team. I don't even think they did that though, they just sucked

Andersen should have had that one though.. Lately, it seems like pucks are going off his glove and in the net

probably, It didn't help when he pushed off to cut the angle and rams his head into the guy screening him

Moore will probably move to the 4th line, which sucks because he's been playing really well with Kerfoot and now Tavares.

My guess;

Johnsson-Matthews-Nylander
Hyman-Tavares-Marner
Mikheyev-Kerfoot-Kapanen
Moore-Gauthier-Shore/Spezza

I think Timashov is pushed out of the lineup

- PatC80

Maybe Moore plays himself ahead of Mikheyev?

That's a long look. He can get a good look on another pairing, especially coming back from injury.

So who gets a look if Ceci isn't the guy?

Will be interesting for sure, Mikheyev on the fourth line with the Goat and Spezza could be quite good. Loved the JT goal, must have demoralized the Wild knowing that that Leafs have at least three other players that could lauch similar laser beams while the Wild have none. The Wild appear to be destined to suck for a long time.

I think that Ceci is the guy, like it or lump it.

They are paying him $4.5 million a year, which shouldn't matter, but we all know it does.

Unless Dermott knocks our socks off, Babcock is going to stubbornly ride with Ceci.

And let's be perfectly clear here: Dubas brought in Ceci. This isn't a sitch where Babcock is stubbornly defying Dubas - they are on the same page with Ceci.

Bill Guerin has to find a way to move Staal, Koivu, Suter, Parise and Zuccarello..

I still don't understand that signing

I'm looking at it outside of the vacuum. The regular season is a playground to figure things out. Ceci was an opportunity to move Zaitsev and he's a young RHD who gets a chance.

The Leafs can make a trade to improve the D but probably can't do it until February. So, Ceci gets the first chance to earn the job ....if he fails then i think Dermott gets a look up there. He played on the right side and has been included in the top 4 for small looks before.

If he's not ready and Ceci sucks then you've given them both a chance and you start working the phones.

I can't believe Babcock is disrespecting Spezza so much.

Something something NHL vet...

...something something all he's done for the Senators and Stars...

...blah blah blah leader in the room...

I mean, is it really Spezza's fault he can't hockey anymore?

To be honest, I haven't hated Ceci every game.

He's had some bad ones, but there have been other nights where I haven't noticed him.

He's earned another 10 games to see what we have, and if he can settle in.

Ditto, there would be takers for Suter and Staal, Koivu and Parise are candidates for Marleau type trades. That's still not enough to clean up that lineup. Goaltending is poop and the team is really old and slow with a lousy prospect pool.

And to be honest ...the best result might be that Dermott and Ceci become the 3rd pairing when Dubas adds an experienced top 4 partner* for Rielly.

*probably named Hainsey.
