Probably get spanked by the Caps regardless, might as well take the points tonight. - Garnie
Tom Wilson will be his usual dirt bag self tomorrow night. No one on the Leafs will stop him. His weasel eyes will light right up. Maybe Babs is protecting Freddy from being ran over. |

So we have 3 sets of back to backs in the next 12 days. So we know Babs never deviates from starting Andersen in the 1st game and the backup in the 2nd game, So that puts Hutchison against Washington tomorrow, The Bruins on Tuesday and the Habs again next Saturday! While Freddy will play Minnesota tonight, Columbus on Monday and San Jose on Friday the 25th! - NewfieStud
That's right.
Andersen vs. Minnesota, Columbus and San Jose
Hutchinson vs. Washington, Boston and Montreal.
That's completely (frank)ing stupid and backwards. Playing your back-up against division opponents and your starter against lesser teams. |

Agreed. I was even surprised Babs didn't start Hutch vs Detroit. Likely still could've beaten Detroit with Usain Bolt Howard in goal. |

nope.
Hutchinson will max get 2 points out of any 3 games he'll play (expected points 0).
so need to make sure to give Andersen the best chance to get 6 points in the other 3 games. |

(frank) Nesterov. He's a LHD and the Leafs will be fine on the left with Rielly, Dermott and Sandin. That's a waste of time.
Grigorenko, if he signs for 700-900K, is worth a shot. Can't lose anything and if he doesn't fit, he'll just go back to Russia and it'll be done with. He's got size and if he meshes with our other Russian comrades, it could be good for chemistry. Russians like being with each other and help each other find cocaine. |

A save percentage greater than .886 would probably help too.

don't tell me - I never said Andersen was a sure bet Vezina finalist.. (unlike some others in here) |

In my books, Hutchison would start against every bottom 10 team and in back to back situations while Andersen would start against every division rival that they're fighting with for playoff positioning. Detroit would qualify as a bottom 10 team for me.
That reminds me, when Babcock was coaching the Red Wings, did he play a cycle game or did he run the same poop he runs now? I'm wondering if he changes his style depending on what players he has at his disposal. |

That only proves my point. Andersen should be getting points from our division rivals. If the Leafs are losing games to the Bruins and Habs, home ice in the playoffs is a dream. |

Babs basically let the top 2 lines play whatever the heck they wanted to play. But he had his 3rd and 4th lines play dump and chase with a winger staying back to help the D. Usually Helm or Glenny. Every now and then he'd elevate a grinder to play with Datsyuk and Zetterberg. He gave Abdelkader a permanent role on the wing with those 2 and it drove me up the wall. |

let's first focus on getting into the playoffs.
leafs without a decent backup will not be a shoe in for the playoffs - and the best chance to get a win is in the first game of a back-to-back, independent of the opponent.

Grigorenko may make sense at the right price.. but I'm skeptical that Dubas would knowingly sign anyone that tall.
Nestorov is more of what they already have.
THey would be better off bring back their own draft choice Rasanen RHD with bad attitude.
Frankly, anyone who can replace Marincin would be fine. If its Nestorov, the ghost of Carlo Coliovacavo or Jim Korn I could care less.

Oh yeah. Expect Hyman to get 20 minutes a night when he returns. "Need Hymes to pull the piano for Matthews. Real gud pro. Plays heavy. Keeps comin at ya. Good man. Puts his foot on the gas plays a full sixty." |

Hyman is severy underrated by people like you who don't know what it takes to win hockey games.
Good luck with your Nylander poster. |
