Also didn't they get rid of most ok the pkers from last season? Hainsey NZ. Brown? - senstroll
Yes, all the guys that were like the worst expected goals against on the PK by a landslide (where Marincin is tops, even more than Muzzin, who's 2nd best PKer).

Another game wasted on Andersen.
Better hope Hutchinson doesn't get Ovechkin'd tomorrow. - JohnFergusonJr
Hutch will get pounded like Alyssa Milano in a locker room. |

Babs said his reasoning is that he wants Andersen playing 1st game of back to back because the team is fresh and plays better. They are going to give Andersen every opportunity to be fresh for the playoffs.
Hard to fault that |

My biggest pet peeve with this (frank)ing team. They can ever close out a period/game without some garbage time goal. |

So you are saying that teams that have a good pp. Score more goals on the pp
I mean. Yeah. - senstroll
Yeah, seems obvious right? Not to some though.
Reality is, if the Leafs want to succeed in the playoffs, they have to stop the best teams from scoring. The margin for error is smaller.
Just saying, adding a quality bottom six player like Glendening would do the Leafs some good. Last year, on a garbage team, he threw 200 hits, had 100 blocks, won 55% of his FOs and killed a lot of penalties. And chipped in 10 goals.
If the Leafs are playing the Bruins and/or Lightning in the playoffs, I'd much rather have him out there killing penalties than anybody the Leafs currently have. Just a matter of getting him for the right price and cap hit. |

If he wants a fresh Andersen, make him play fewer games, especially against garbage teams like Minnesota and Detroit. Period.
The team needs him to play the 2nd game against the better team, especially against divisional opponents. If home ice comes down to games that Hutchinson lost, it's a stupid strategy. |

I assume the Leafs will do both. I also have to assume the Leafs sports science have had input on the best strategy.
Contenders need to get the job done. Win despite all these little obstacles. I'm not going to cry about who starts what game in b2b |

I know, it pains me to compliment Marincin on anything, but dude is a good PKer. That's basically it, and I'm not about to Glendening the situation and trade a 2nd for him if we didn't have him... |
