Players departed accounted for 357 of 759 penalty minutes last year or about 50%. Its early but the guys replacing them don't seem to take as many stupid penalties. Jets can't afford too with their PK having completely new staff . The only real black mark left in the group is Kulikov and all the stupid penalties he continues to take. Last night, his dumb penalty essentially cost us the game. The only other guy who tend to take stupid penalties is Wheeler and so far he's dialed that back this season.

Does it count that you and Ross will always be my BFF for showing up at the pub last January, and sat next to each other for a civil impassioned discussion? 🤝 🌈 If I return to Winnipeg in February should I invite a professional mediator? 😜.....

All is good and would love to get together with everyone again, discussions are always better in person, lots lost in translation on these blogs.
Just need Rexy and jets nation next time

In his case, he either needs some quality ice time, or send him to moose. Hasn’t shown me much so far this year.

Kuli is your 2LD currently, and playing decent. Who would you be left with for 2&3LW? And feel free to drop Appleton off in New Jersey. Guy is a talented RW that many teams would want. I think trading Perrault is a must, before people realize how ineffecient he has been lately.

Love how the Canucks beat the Rangers. Trouba had an impressive 33.3 Corsi, while my man Tyler Myers had a 60.0 Corsi. This is while both are playing on their teams #1 units.

Thought I would mention it!

Disagree about Kulikov.
Appleton is a healthy scratch tonight.
Trading Perreault and his salary is ok by me.

Something tells me that Kulikov, Appleton and Perreault could be had for the right price.

We are now watching the beginning of the Laine having to carry Wheeler era. How many more years of wheeler are we stuck with????

Sad to see him age so quickly this year, barely has legs for 15 second shifts

On a day where Trouba gets dominated in head-to-head action against Myers, and the Jets shutout the leagues hottest team, it just goes to show how overrated defense is!

Great entertaining game tonight. Maurice has had three days to get some more practices in and spend a lot of time on defence. At the end of the day the Jets as we know have a very new defensive crop of aging veterans as well as an 18-year-old. It will take time for them to all learn the defensive system and get some chemistry with their defensive partners. That's why I think the 20 game mark will be a good measuring stick for what the real Jets will look like for the rest of the season.

Its already a better team with Little in the lineup. Dahlstrom is starting to look more comfortable, Pionk was an excellent pickup for the price, Heinola is looking more solid by the day , and even Poolman is improving every game. Kulikov is the only guy back there that I think is questionable right now ( he played OK tonight though).

I have faith here. Rome wasnt built in a day. One other thing, the Central Division is not exactly lighting it on fire so the Jets are still right in the hunt after 10 games.

I have to admit that Wheeler looked awful tonight....but did you see him chase McD on the backcheck in OT ?
Laine is a disaster during 5 on 5, served up more turnovers than McDonalds ! However, he did get some shots off on the PP and of course a biggy at the end.

I was hard on the Pionk acquisition and he has been better than advertised for sure

Time for Wheeler to be demoted to a lower line enough is enough.

I don’t want to watch this rapid decline play out on the top line and top PP, the giveaways tonight reached new heights

That was arguably his worst game as a Jet and it came after two days rest.

That fourth line on Edmonton.....Russel- Granlund -Jurco played a very strong game. Its definitely a noticeable improvement over last year's fourth line for the Oilers. One of the better fourth-line efforts I've seen this year for anyone.

I'd bet these guys are one of the reasons the Oilers have had such defensive success this year.

I haven’t payed attention but I wonder if McDavid/Draisitle are averaging more ice time than 55&26 last year, seems they were out every second shift. Not sure that’s a sustainable plan. But those two are great.

Thought that Ehlers and Roslovic were our best two forwards, period.
Yes. probably worst game by Wheeler for some time, but the effort is there and the results will probably come. He is still the captain and gives it 100%, which hopefully the other players will notice and follow.

Maybe if Ehlers or Connor were on the big line, things might be different? Connor always seems to be a cure for whatever ails a line.

You are obsessed with bad-mouthing Wheeler at every opportunity, aren't you? Who knows, maybe he is hiding an injury or whatever. Ever think of that? You ever have a bad day at the office? Don't worry about the captain, there are worse problems.

Liked the games of Poolman, Pionk and Dahlstrom. Heinola? Does he stay or does he go? But Helle the obvious 1st star.
