I am surprised TSN isn't in shambles either. You can only focus on one market for so long in today's tech world before people stop caring about what you have to say. - Retinalz
there's 15 million hockey fans in GTA, they're fine. i wish this wasn't true, but that's BS. |

15mil fans is just a drop in the bucket. Their viewership has dropped in recent years with more/new options popping up. |

their biggest problem is streaming. No one can stand commercials anymore thanks to streaming becoming so popular. Most of my friends never listen to radio unless it's for a live update on something(news, sports, traffic). But none of them listen to talk radio or music, they'd rather just stream their own music and podcasts.
I assume the majority of 650/1040 listeners are 40+ years old. |

that's pretty great, except the free advertising for BCLC. Out of all the corporations, that one is pretty much just designed to cripple poor/uneducated. - neem55

No it isn't, that is some stupid poop. 15 million is a drop if any hockey game ever had 15 million live viewers it would have to be quite the game. 8 million viewed game seven lastr year, most in 36 years. Drop in the bucket |

All corporations are designed to make money, that is very simple and very true. This one just happen to be crown and crippling to people who grow up poor and it is normalized into everyday life. While I realize you didn't grow up around that stuff, I certainly did. Watching people pick up their parents habits is just part of the deal, it makes a lot more sense than "do better", "make better choices" and whatever other rationale you attach to people who don't seem to "get it". If you can't read, you've likely not given much thought to it. Anyway, I'd rather stick to hockey at this point, this one hits a little too close to home for me. - neem55

Sure, but people are just going to find free streams no matter what you do. Radio is defs fro the 40+ crowd I agree. |

Vancouver sports radio (and TV to a lesser extent) have been recycling the same opinions for the last 20+ years. Nothing new. Nothing inventive. Same people with the same opinions no matter the broadcaster.
I got sick of hearing from those people 6 years ago. |

Provincial Governments are the only entities in the world that can lose money on gambling, insurance, and dope. |

it's a statistical fact that people with less income and less education purchase more lottery tickets. But my my argument was it wasn't because of poor life choices. Great reading comprehension, as usual. |

please provide sources to your claims especially these two (the highlighted above and below):

keep your nanny state to yourself. people should be allowed to make their own choices even if they're not the best choices. |

According to my research, it’s a bunch of old bored grandparents and groups of 5-10 co-workers

Sportsnet 650 in shambles - Nucker101
I dunno, Rintoule gets his own (syndicated) show in the morning 9-noon, plus Canuck Lunch. Sat Shaw gets the prime gig with Walker in the afternoon (deserved), they shed some salary. I wish the Canucks could have as good a day.
