I'll take the over.
But only by like 3 minutes... - Queenie_5_hole
still no wins or power play goals yet, btw. |

Obviously Barry Trotz is one of the best coaches in hockey, it's just that is there a quality coach out there right now who will turn this team around. - Pomegrant
You hit the nail right on the head. I'd like to see the team move on from Hynes and Nesreddine but there isn't really anyone like Trotz to move to. Although I'd obviously love Stevens back on D, but that should falls to the head coach to pick.
There are likely some decent options but I can't think of any slam dunk guys. I would have taken AV before he ended in Philly. I'd probably be fine with Sutter or a few other established coaches. |

It's pretty tense. If the Rangers embarrass this team I think people are going to freak the freak out.

Wow! The reactions on this board resemble the Rags blog. Come in off the ledge guys. People are freaking out over a 6 game dud to start the season. I get it, we've sucked so far. Defense atrocious, no PP and JH looks like a middle schooler out there.
But realistically, we all figured to be a bubble team this year. A few wins and we'll be right where we should be......middle of the pack.
Keep the faith and focus on the bigger picture (long term continued success).
PS> If nothing changes by game 15, then let the axes fly! But much too early so far. |

You're perspective is very reasonable but the losses have been horrific. Massive blown leads in a couple games and really lopsided scores. Unable to score on any power plays which even include (at least) two 5 on 3 chances. It's not just the record but the soup to nuts ass whooping all over the ice.
What is to be gained by keeping Hynes and Nesreddine? Have they shown us anything special in the years they've been here? NOPE. |

I think I miss Larry Robinson more as a coach, no disrespect to Stevens.
This coaching staff was well suited for a tank, there was no pressure and they could experiment with things. Now is the time to move into something better just the timing of it isn't good. |

The issue with the 0-6 start is yes how they played.. but also.. they have to play at a 100pt pace from here on out to make the playoffs. It's possible, but not likely. So yea, that's why being 0-6 is concerning. |

Robinson would be great but at 68 and with his health issues I'm not sure he's a realistic options. Did you know he was part of the St. Louis front office and won the cup last year? Technically his career 10th!

I'm looking for 2 replacement managers for fantasy. These 2 guys were no-shows for the 1st week of the season and aren't responding to my messages or emails. It's just 1 week so the season is salvageable. No money, large rosters, 20 teams, stats are the usual plus hits and blocks. Both teams aren't hopeless and have decent goalies- Smith/Varlamov, and Gibson/Raanta/Dell.. with 1 starting goalie spot. Message me if you're interested. Thanks. |

If Ryan Suter is available and willing to move his no-trade clause, would trying to trade for him be acceptable? Maybe the Wild can cover half his contract and we just trade Miles Wood for an aging Suter. |

It cant hurt to add him, but if we're going for a Wild D i'd rather try to get Brodin instead |

lol no. The shame of it all is these are 2 of the 5 new managers. I knew the 1 seemed shady but I was desperate and gave him a chance. Same thing as "Josh's Team" last year. Kid never did fantasy before and flaked out quick lol.
I've already found replacement managers, just giving them a day or 2 before we bid farewell. |

Guy Boucher. This team needs discipline and a system. Not a long term solution, but definitely someone who can institute a defensively responsible system and instill the discipline a young team needs. Everywhere he’s been he’s had success early, then wore out his welcome. I could do two seasons of Guy rather than watch 5 skater do whatever the (frank) we are watching now. |

Any top gap is needed right now. Maybe Boucher would be fine, I don't know. Gotta think that Hynes should have been fired in the offseason and then brought in one of the coaches that were available (Quenneville/Veigneault). |

I don't think we need to change so radically that we need a defensive minded coach. NHL coaches have shelf lives and I think Hynes is at the end of his. Hell St Louis didn't have long term plans for Berube initially but he took them to the cup. |

The thing is this completely ignores the context of those games. 2 of the games we blew 3 goal leads, two of the games we were shut out looking like we couldn't be bothered to play, then 1 we got completely blown out. These are things that happen to good teams 1-2 times a season, and we've done it in 5 of 6. |

Tied for worst PP in the league, 2nd worst PK in the league, bottom 5 CF% at 5v5 in the league with a -16 goal differential 6 games in. That’s brutal, I’d like to think it’s tough luck but with a 98.9 PDO, they’ve only been slightly “unlucky”.
I think a very drastic change needs to happen before this thing goes completely off the rails.
Aside from a coaching change, if Zacha and Coleman are going to play wing. Let’s waive one of Rooney or Hayden, I don’t really give a poop if they get claimed and call up McLeod. Instead of having a borderline AHL center or a knuckle dragging winger we can have a talented player who plays a 200 foot game up. Can’t hurt at this point. |

This. We haven’t lost hard luck games. Nothing has gone well. I don’t care if it’s only 6 games, it’s time for a shakeup. |
