only gets harder, the things single friends have to go though.... oddly enough single females at 30 have it the hardest.

I have a few single friends and a few married friends.

I have more fun with my single friends, than the married ones. Even if my wife and I are hanging out with them.

Most of my married friends are boring.

"So Sally, when our we going to meet your new boy friend?"

"Soon Dad"

"How old is he Sally?"

"28 the same age as me"

"Does he have a job Sally?"

"No Dad"

"Does he have a degree?"

"No Dad"

""Well then what does he do all day Sally?"

"He plays fortnite, spends a lot of time at various sports chat rooms, tries telling me tennis is a contact sport, watched the Joker 3 straight nights last week, cooks chicken wings in the microwave. And his parents are taking him to Dubai this Christmas. Oh and his feet stink"

"If you don't break up with him right now Sally, you have to move out of the house. I thought I raised you better then this."

Depends on the definition of boring.

I feel when you go out with married friends who have kids you appreciate the time more than if you're single.

Eh, one of them wasn't.

it's a long story, but it's dumb and I'm getting rid of the negative people in my life.

I bring enough stress and anxiety to myself, that I do not need my friends to pile on.

an uninterrupted hour? Havent had one of those in years lol

I do 90% of my gaming/fantasy sports/sim sports/horse racing/sports betting after 9:00 once the wife and kid go down.

I was thinking you like stay up all night for hours.... an hour is nada, can barely get into the groove in an hour.

It’s a different day and age for the most part. Most of my friends still live at home (including myself) however I do have one friend who just had his 2nd baby girl a few days ago and has now moved out on his own with his soon to be wife.

Dating is much different now then it used to be. I don’t know many people in their early to mid twenties that have the “family” part all down but you’re not wrong about the working or finishing the degree part.

The number of both single males and females is continuously going up as well after the 30 year old mark.

Society as a whole has put far less emphasis on getting married than it ever has in previous generations. And it also promotes marriage later in life than usual (30s instead of 20s). It seems to be natural as the dual-income household became more and more prevalent.

it's a gerbe hour, so it's not necessarily accurate

I have been dating someone for the better part of a decade. Weddings are expensive and largely a formality. I'm sure we'll do it somewhat soon, but I watched my sisters spend way too much money on theirs, and they were just stressed out for a year. City Hall + lawn party for me, hopefully

You can take a 3 week vacation to Europe and have a nice down payment on a house, or you can spend $30k freaking out about minutiae for a year, and have a dress you never wear again

back in the day

mom and dad got married at 18 and had kids at 20
dad worked his job, made enough money to raise a family well

then things changed, duel income is now essential, and the only couples having kids in the 18 to 20 year old range are military wives, and accidents

or people trying to get higher welfare checks

worst part is, if your not going to be a doctor, lawyer, or teacher
probably better off as an 18 year old to join the service, learn a skilled trade or start your own business as a degree is not worth what you invested in it, in the long haul

As a round number a family needs a household income of 100k plus, if not most likely your fighting to stay above water.
