Absolutely. Set him up for success, give him confidence. Put him on a 3rd line role won't help him at all.
Funny how a guy like Gaudreau went 104th overall in 2011. He's got a lot of skill and is a true 1st line C. How could the scouts just write him off because of his size? - Barnaby36
Gaudreau ain’t a center lol |

"Potential" bust was the key word you overlooked, but no, I don't think it's early to be concerned for a player who has touted by some as another generational talent.
He has zero points through six games and playing the third line. I'm not saying he won't come around or maybe just isn't ready, but he's also not showing many positives.
I watched a few Devils games to see him play and he honestly looks like a child out there. - Rinosaur
I think sometimes the hockey media (Canada) feels compelled to place the 'generational talent' moniker on SOMEONE every season, if for no other reason than to keep folks interested in the draft, and younger players they're probably not aware of. |

Simon is a facilitator. His hockey IQ is pretty good and knows where to play and be effective on his line. I really like how they are playing no matter what people say about him not scoring much. The 1st line is ROLLING! - Barnaby36
It's only been 69 minutes, but they actually haven't been as good this season as last. Which should say a lot about how good they were together last year. I want Simon up there for a month to see what they produce and how they move forward, but I wouldn't be opposed to him going back down to the left side with Horny on the right. Those two also had a lot of success together last season.
I think someone posted something similar yesterday but I can definitely see some combos down the stretch that put Bjugs at the wing-
Jake Sid Bjugs
Galchenyuk Malkin Tanev/Rust
Simon McCann Horny
ZAR Teddy Tanev/Rust
Kahun is easily the odd man out at this point, as is Lafferty who I think will get called back up in the spring for the stretch run (if he is even sent down) |

It really is, and idk if its the homer in me, but it seems like we have much worse luck than most teams. and for the past decade ive wondered if its the training staff and doctors, because of the extended period of bad luck?? |

I don't know why coaching decided to break the Simon-Bjugstad-Hörnqvist line. They were playing pretty good together.
They are trying to find a role for McCann outside of the top 6. I thought he was OK with Guentzel and Crosby. |

I thought he was pretty good in that role as well, but I don't think they want him pushing Jake to the offside.
Who knows what will happen though. We have about a month before we get the full compliment of forwards back. |

Sometimes lines get broken up because other lines aren’t working and need a different look. |

Hard to put everyone in the right place to succeed when half your lineup is left wings and you're forcing guys out of position. |

So the Pens are looking like they're going to handle Marino how they should of handled Pouliot. With lots of game time on the 3rd pair. Let him make his mistakes, take his bumps. It will make him better.
I'd say Marino has a better overall attitude than Pouliot and thats why he's sticking around. |

So tomorrow night will be quite the test. The Avs are by far a cut above the other teams the Pens have played so far.
HCMS better not go with a JJ-Guds pairing vs those Avs forwards haha. |

They do a great job with generating high danger chances and we suck at stopping them right now. Let's see if they play as tight as they did against the Peg |

The third pair definitely needs to be sheltered against top teams. |
