Legit question for the metrics community:
Is there a statistic somewhere that tracks potential points based on lack of ES playing time? For example:
Player A has x amount of lost PPG due to the team being on PK and/or PP and said player not being in the ice as much. Over the course of a season, it seems like that could add up.

I would say you would be looking at ESPts/60 relative to TOI which is what I was doing with Galchenyuk earlier this summer. One of the reasons why I thought he’d produce more was QoT but also TOI in general and we’ve already seen that a bit. It’s early but he’s playing a full minute more this season than he did last season and I think eventually he’ll average 17+. The extra TOI is likely to come at even strength, you get the idea
