Agree with that statement about Mitts learning his defensive responsibilities at Center, I just don't want to see offensive side of his game pushed to the side, he isn't pushing the pace.

That was a good team over there. 🤔

I think Krueger is excellent so far btw.

But I completely disagree with how Dahlin has been handled.

It’s like sitting McDavid or Matthews for going pointless for a few games.

You let stars play through slumps.

He’s the most important player in our organization. He needs to be on the ice in important situations

Not sure why you'd put a struggling 19 yr old defenseman in a situation like that. Especially against a big, talented veteran team like the Cats.
- Michael Pachla

Because even when struggling, he’s better than most of our blue line.

Dahlin has been absolutely horrible in his own zone this year. He's been lackadaisical with the puck, he is having mental lapses and trouble concentrating. He looks too casual at times, no sense of urgency.

He's incredible in the other team's zone and on the PP. His neutral game needs some work but it's not an issue atm.

He's having growing pains. He will improve on the back end with time. He's incredibly talented and highly skilled.

He is a points machine so far this season but even though he's not on the ice for too many GA, he's been lucky with a lot of his mistakes and he's been taking bad penalties.

An exciting player, and at times a little frustrating right now but he's far and away our best defenseman, even as a 19-year old who's a liability in his own end right now. He'll tighten it up as the season progresses, I would expect.

Power- great point, it's going to take our "closers" some time to get use to the new system.

When we needed offense in ot, Krieger used dahlin.
He's an offensive defenseman at this point in his career.

What are you seeing defensively: that would have him out there when leading?

Aside from being penalty prone thus far this season.

Miller has covered up a lot of those mistakes by Dahlin

Another good point.

We all love dahlin, but he has struggled defensively.

What have you seen defensively in the past 5 years from 19, 6 or 55 that says they are any better? They routinely have sat back and given up leads like they did Friday.

The entire point of the game is to get to the other teams zone, which Dahlin is great at. Not to sit back and play goalie and allow the opposition to pepper you

No. He's not. At least not yet. Kids 19 yrs old, its early in the season and they won. Again.

He definitely is, and the numbers prove it, but whatever.

Can’t wait until Ristolainen/McCabe are on for another few goals against and we all pretend it’s everyone else’s fault

There was, and they completely took over the game when Krueger relied heavily on our “vets” and sat the young players.

What numbers? His five pp assists out of seven points? His four lazy penalties the last three games

I don't see a single guy on the back-end who is better than Dahlin all-around.

Miller has been a great presence for him. Risto is Risto. Joker, he's on the cusp of being a god top-4 guy but I think he needs some time in Rochester. Scandella has been pretty solid so far. McCabe has been inconsistent.

Dahlin is by far the best defenseman we have.

Not true. Both Mtl ans Fla took over the game at various times. That happens in hockey as well as other sports

Oh no, he’s only on pace for 35 EV points which would put him as a top 5 D man!

It’s 100% true.

Mittelstadt (who had a very good game), Olofsson, Dahlin and Jokiharju played the least in the third period, and Florida dominated the third period in shots, chances and goals to tie the game.

These are things that actually happened

So you and others bagged on Risto for his reliance on power play points but when 71% of Dahlins points have come on the PP, you use his even strenght point pace?

Got it

Well done ! I don’t see people complaining about Olofsson only scoring on the PP either

I think there's a lot of people questioning Olofsson's 5v5 play.

It'll go unanswered and the narrative will switch to the Lockport Twins or Bogosian. Maybe with a touch of E Kane or ROR thrown in for good measure
