Thats your opinion, a negative one at that, that doesnt really have any factual basis for it.

lol..I keep reading the posts and thinking..so what you said something.

sure winning the cup is (frank)ing hard in 2019. A team can get 125 points and get swept in rd1

saying a team is not going to win is nothing to brag about..96% of the teams lose.

By all accounts and predictions, the Leafs are a contending team. one of the team expected to be at the top of the standings (lets say top 5).

they probably wont win the cup..we get that. its not easy to do.

How can fans be so blind?
This team which is now worse had a .500 record in the second half of last year and now off to a brutal start.
The writing is on the wall

Mike Babcock will never win a playoff round as coach of the Leafs
He will never win another playoff round in his NHL coaching career

Yes, $7.1M for Hayes was a great deal for the Flyers..
Whereas, $6.9M for William Nylander was an epic fail by Dubas.

- PatC80

Nylander deal is different. He is an RFA. The team has more leverage than a GM going for a UFA. Flyers paid the price for the 2nd best C in FA pool. 6.9M is fair for Nylander but there are several factors that play in here.

1) Nylander held out until the final day

2) RFAs getting paid big money off their ELC was unheard of.

3) Like mentioned above because of point #2 people felt Toronto should have gotten a better deal.

Nylander deal is fine in reality.

Yup, and Marner's deal sucks unless he's going full Kuchetard and plans on becoming a sniper all of a sudden.

Exactly. I could hazard a guess at a lot of teams not winning, pretty easy to say that and be right. It doesnt mean they arent contenders.

Toronto did get a better deal, the 6.9M Nylander signed is not an issue.

Id give Nylander and RFA deal at 6.9M over giving Hayes a 6M deal as a UFA(and somehow he got someone to pay him 7M). Hayes in his career year had less points then Nylander in his rookie year...

the stanley cup champs played lottery hockey for half a season.

Why dont we let this season play out more than 5 games before we declare a crisis

He's on pace to score like 180 goals right now....Im pretty sure the over under should have been 100 goals....talk about short changing him

The problem with evaluating players based on their point production, is that you’re not evaluating your roster based on needs. Leafs don’t need Nylander. Maybe he’s worth that on a league-wise basis, but the Leafs don’t need a super soft winger, we have enough pussies on the team. We need Tkachuk, B.Schenn, Patrick type forwards. Guys who play with jam, get in your face, do it all. Nylander isn’t the player you all think he is, if he played in Europe his entire career, half of you would say he’s better than Crosby.

Saw this on Twatter;

There’s already a lot of Leafs hysteria going around about Dubas’ roster construction and the team’s size but...

1. They’re the 8th heaviest team in the league
2. They’re exactly the average height
3. They’ve received .876 goaltending from their starter
