a bridge deal - MaximusAurelius
The Champlain bridge cost something like 4.2 billion USD.
Sounds like alot of money for Nylander. |

You're not wrong but no one will convince me Hayes new contract doesn't make him overpaid. - Scabeh
By how much?
I do believe the analysts are on your side but likely maybe a million or less overpaid? |

I'd say by about a million, or 1.5M.
Especially considering the term.
That's obviously just an opinion out of my ass. |

I think the Nylander contract is fine. Never understood the criticism of the number. What did people expect? - DrunkenCanuck
People expect him to perform like Pastrnak and be paid like Alex Kerfoot |

They should pay better attention to what’s going on then. From the outside it looks fair for both sides |

Yeah, but it cost the Province of Quebec next to nothing, so it's kinda like the rest of Canada was forced to retain salary on that bridge. |

Well bridges are of federal responsabilities.... and Trudeau won plenty of votes by making sure there wouldn't be a fee for crossing the bridge.
So yeah, the bill was pretty salty for everyone else I guess.
So... ahem... thanks? |

I may be wrong about this, but I think it's because originally the queen maintained some form of control over the sea route crossing Quebec through the great lakes.... Which included the bridges crossing it.
And when it became oblivious then switched it to the federal government. |

too expensive as one-off investments for local gov'ts.
(and they don't want the locals to go cheap on bridge construction for obvious reasons) |

I don't mind coughing up some taxes for roads, infrastructure, well being of the people. I have to say I'm not crazy about paying (lifetime contracts) for separatists to sit in the senate.

Are there really separatists senators? They've all been named by the federal goverment so I doubt there are many. |

Remember when the Leafs played .500 hockey for the entire second half of last season and chocked in gm 7????
The team is broken and Babcock must be fired. They will go nowhere with him as coach |

Tampa Bay looked franking scary. - Atomic Wedgie
to my eyes it is the 3rd game in a row where the goalie's shat the bed.
I really hope they have a succession plan for Ander7en.

Thank you. I'm apparently nuts because I don't think a 500 hockey team is a contender - and they are worse this year defensively. A new coach could help, but... |
