Did the NHL move the playoffs to early March?

Or are you just terrible at trolling?

I'm leaning towards the latter.

Around March is now early March? You are all over the place this morning old ballz

I’m not a fan of the wait and see approach. They need toughness and grit, pronto.
- DrunkenCanuck

Maybe, but lets see where this team is at in Feb/March.
Who knows, maybe even Ceci improves (or gets worse and is traded)

Maybe I could get lucky in my drafts and be able to trade Crosby for the undrafted star in Hayes....
- Archaic

I went and check the 3 leagues I'm in.

Hayes was taken in the 19th round in my ESPN league and not at all in my 2 Yahoo leagues.

I think I had Philly as that.

I figured the playoff positions would be-

Tampa..................Washington
Leafs....................Pittsburgh
Boston.................Carolina

With Florida and Philly as the wild cards.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Buffalo knock Philly off, though.

- GreatGigInTheSky

I think Tampa is a lock. 1st place without breaking a sweat.

I think Boston is the #2 in the Atlantic.

I don't think Toronto is a lock for #3.

Montreal, Florida and Buffalo could all take the #3 or a wildcard.

I'm too scared to predict the Metropolitan - it could be just about anyone. Washington, Pittsburgh, Carolina would probably be my guesses for top three, in no particular order. But Islanders had 103 points last year. Rangers could do it. Jersey may surprise. Hart gives Philly a good chance.

February I can see. But why not address the obvious problems that are not new?

Technically speaking, "around March" could be late February.

Guess where my old ballz are all over now?

This is my playoffs team:

Hyman - Snake - Marner
Kerfoot - Matthews - ??
Mikheyev - ?? - Moore
Spezza - Gauthier - Kapanen
13th: Shore

Rielly - ??
Muzzin - Barrie
Dermott - Holl
7th: Sandin

Andersen
??

trade Nylander, Johnsson, Bracco and a few other guys to fill out those key positions.

Right now you can't, because every team feels like they have a chance.
U.S Thanksgiving would be a good indicator of where teams are, but for the Leafs, I think they can afford to wait.. Andersen gets better after October.

Let's see where they are in Feb/March, heck, even late January.

Trade 5-7 guys at the TDL - and you're being serious...?

Is it possible that Dubas will do nothing and if the team doesn’t perform he will have all the support he needs to fire Babcock? They clearly aren’t on the same page.

So you want to trade Nylander for a 1st defenceman, but you also want to trade for a 2nd line winger?

Unless you are willing to bundle 1st round picks (I'm not), I really think you are 99% looking at the team we will take into the playoffs.

There's not point trying to add grit to this team - one plodding defenceman who can hit is not going to make a difference.

This team has been built to win with speed and skill. Or at least try to win. You may not like it. I may not like it.

But tough noogies. This is the team we are taking to the playoffs.

P.S. I don't think Spezza is with the team in April.

I would be absolutely shocked if they're not there come playoffs.

Those were my preseason guesses on how I thought the positions would end up. If Pittsburgh keeps getting injuries and not great goaltending, then I think Carolina will finish 2nd. But I still think those 3 teams will be the top 3. I fully expect the Islanders to fall back to Earth and I don't think Jersey has good enough goaltending.

They're going to be in tough having not really fixed anything.

Their big moves were downgrading in net and adding 32 year old Derick Brassard who stunk all of last season.

I would have already traded Nylander and Johnsson during the off-season - not sure why you're saying wait to TDL.

If I'm being forced to make a trade, I keep Johnsson and trade Kapanen.

Although at the moment, you won't get much for Kapanen.

Can we just agree that you won't try to put a shine on the Flyers signing Hayes, and we won't try to put a shine on the Leafs signing Ceci?

It will save us all a lot of time and laughter.

He is overpaid but he is a good player. He was dominate in the NJ game. His play without the puck is great. He's never going to be a point per game player but 60-65 points seems reasonable from what I have seen from him so far.

I'm tempted to agree. But I won't call them lucky.

They won't get the same godlike goaltending they did last season.... and it will be their downfall.

They'll miss the playoffs but not by a whole bunch imo.
