Well ya. Ontario regrets voting for ford....im assuming trudeau is trying to imply canada would regret voting in sheer for the same reasons.
But yes, i agree don't use ford as a platform, i wish these candidates would sell us on what theyll do and not simply attacking.

- Fakepartofme

There’s still plenty that are glad for Ford but there has to a lot of regret for electing Whynne.

Same thing with Willy last year.

For me, and maybe some others?, i just expected Mitch to come in and show why him and his camp thought they deserved such money. He stuck it up our bums and then put in the performances he has so far.

Not impressed up to this point. Was expecting/hoping for much much more with that price tag.

- walshyleafsfan

Yup, no one is saying he sucks.

But yeah, it’s disappointing. He was brutal last night and hasn’t been good in his first 6 games.

Lots of hockey left and I’m confident he’ll be back to normal soon but as a fan I hoped he would try and prove he’s worth the money. He’s been bad.

Well, that was a crappy game. I don’t understand all the Marner hate at this point though… It wasn’t him who let in seven goals… Or him who kept coughing the puck over and in our own end…

It sucked all around except Matthews from where I sit. Hopefully they will smarten up and go on a little winning streak...

- Hockey_Reverend

Him and Rielly have been very disappointing so far. They both deserve the criticism they are getting.

We already have Freddy October we don’t need Rielly and Marner in there too.

As I've said numerous times you can keep most of the core. Just have to change the supporting cast.

I'm hoping this becomes evident in 2 or 3 more years. Until then we should trade for some offensive defensemen and undersized wingers. The last thing opposing teams will suspect is us quadrupling down

- walshyleafsfan

Jebus.

There is criticism to be made here but let’s not get carried away here....it’s been 6 games.

Let’s give them 82 games, this is a great team on paper. If things go south the coach goes....if it’s still going south then you make changes.

However it’s game 5....and the Leafs will get hot and cold many times again.

Also....I want to see Sandin with Rielly soon. Ceci handles the puck like a grenade.

It didn't take long for the optimism for Ceci to fade. He's probably another defender that could have flashes of brilliance as a sheltered 3rd pair guy, but we'll probably never know.

What a lousy effort by the Leafs.
Andersen keeps on playing worse than Reimer.
Ceci just can't keep up and is horrible on the PK.
Willie floats (that non-effort on Shattenkirk's goal was ugly).
Marner and Tavares invisible.

3rd line looked ok, although Kerfoot isn't a true #3C.

Just trade one of Kapanen/Johnsson already for a stronger #3C - Moore and Mikheyev look really good , and Kerfoot will do better as a LW (either on 3rd line or with Matthews).

(frank)ing trainwreck of a game. 0 effort, 0 physical play (except one hit by Muzzin), and too much figureskating again by most players.

Could only watch the first 20 mins, which was the most entertaining hockey in a while.

Guess I didn't miss much...

I'll agree that Andersen was terrible. Reilly / Ceci were terrible - and have been about half the time 6 games in. Obviously Marner is struggling. I'm thinking the pressure of living up to his contract is weighing on him. I don't know. It doesn't even seem like he's trying to do too much. Maybe it's just a poor start.

Nylander could have worked harder, but frankly that Shattenkirk goal shouldn't go in on an NHL goalie. It's an embarrassing goal. Hopefully Freddy finds his game soon.

I have to disagree about Kerfoot. In the past three or four games, I think he's been on the better Leafs. He's fast. He moves well. He may not be a true centre, but he is far from a problem.

Babcock is a dinosaur and needs to be fired before the leafs fall too far back to catch up. The game passed him by a few years ago.

We a coach that can play D too?

Maybe Keefe can lace them up...probably wouldn’t be any worse then some we have.

Kerfoot has some wheels... actually like what I see from him.
Reilly has been brutal so far and needs to wake up. Ceci has been meh. Barrie has been okay and so has Muzzin imo. Sandin has look good too. A few rookie mistakes but he has poise and smarts and can skate...

I don’t know, Leafs players didn’t give Andersen much help. A couple of those shots were lasers, a couple more 1 timers from about 5 feet, 1 where their D walked through 2 guys and had a free backhand from about 2 feet.

I don’t understand how someone plays hockey their whole life and have a chance to lay a guy out and it doesn’t even cross their mind. Not sure they realize that if it was them with their head down accepting a pass it’s going to be nighty night.

But we won the Corsi game again.

Realistically, you can't turn over 8+ players on the roster and expect everything to go smoothly right from the hop. Rielly has been very poor in his end to start the year. Ceci may not offer him the same support/confidence that Hainsey did - I don't know. With Ceci, I think his game is fragile. It's like - if he makes a good play or two early he seems to have a good game. If he makes a mistake or two early, it seems just be a poor game for him.

Barrie is what we knew we were getting - a great skater who is going to contribute to the offense wonderfully, but who is not a good defender. He will contribute by driving puck possession and opportunity, but he is weaker than I thought he'd be. I don't think there's anyone in the league he can win a physical battle against.

Muzzin - he's been okay, but he looks very slow. Was he always that slow?

Sandin and Holl have both played well given their relative level of competition. I don't think either would do well with a promotion to harder competition, though.

The problem with this leafs team is that management and quite a few players are focused on getting more goals and assists vs actual wins.
There is no use in being #1 in league in goals scored per game if you cannot win sufficient games with it.

Rielly always wasnt very good defensively and muzzin always was that slow.
Barrie is a player leafs didnt really need - needed a guy that can play well in d-zone since enough offense.
So far, kerfoot looks more like a good add than barrie. (Barrie is good but a luxury leafs cannot afford - similar to nylander on fw)

Ya. Our D need to play D instead of pinching all the time. Shattenkirk goal, Barrie nowhere to be found and then he walks Rielly ( pretty sure it was Barrie lol )

You can't blame Freddy on Kucherov (goal 2), Stamkos (goal 4) or Point (goal 5). He overplayed the first goal - diving out to grab the puck and not getting it. He put himself out of position. He let a weak backhander get by him from Shattenkirk (goal 3). He completely poop the bed on Kucherov's last goal (goal 7).

Goal 6 is just a freak goal that you can't really blame anyone one way or the other.
