It's part of how bad the team was, probably. A player like him would get limited minutes on a better squad but forward depth being so bad he got a lot of ice time to (frank) around and pot 20.

With the way our team is build, we need a better breakout plan than just throw it hard around the boards or try to flip it in behind the defenders. It seems like we have so few clean breakouts.

Obviously there were a few breakdowns, that's going to happen with the type of team that is being built. But a lot of chances kept to the perimeter and players actually covering passing lanes. Having a few days off to reset looks like it's been good.
