What would your thoughts be on bringing in Phaneuf? I know he isn't the player he used to be - by any stretch - but he is a lefty Dman and has size. I doubt he can be worse the Micro. He would automatically be our biggest Dman and could help bring that net front presence on D.

I think he would be worth a gamble, especially if Shero can't swing a trade for a Dman.

Most (MOST) 3rd/4th line tweeners don't have a 19-goal NHL season on their resume.

You aren't wrong, but he hasn't really been a 4th liner until this year.

I was a big Miles Wood supporter but he struggled last year and looks lost this year.

If his line consists of Zacha and Boqvist that's a lot of talent regardless of line number. Rooney and Hayden not so much.

Nothing gets the New Jersey Devils focused like playing the Flyers; the Rangers second...

He has to be the most frustrating player on this roster. Besides mueller for other reasons.

I think the problem is that he was looking like he was developing into a decent power forward. He really is just a fourth liner and that's it.

4th liners don't have to make the team worse...

By comparison: Martin-Komarov-Clutterbuck (or whatever that line was).. 4th liners.. didn't make the team worse, were useful, not necessarily productive, but useful without making the team worse.
