I got a call last week from the Canadian Tax Service - I was in real trouble unless I contacted them - press 1.
I pressed one and immediately blurted out: "I've told your frankers a million times - I pay taxes on all the cocaine I've sold, so you can't touch me!"
They hung up.
I think this is my new strategy. - Atomic Wedgie
By doing so, you could be accepting charges for a long distance call.

Now in Winterpeg. I remember in University drunkenly saying on the bus that "There should be a company that delivers food for you from restaurants as a third party." 3 weeks later Just For Eats was being marketed on the bus...coincidence? No, Illuminati (frank)ing confirmed. - AdamFrench
A new restaurant just opened in my neighbourhood. Nice Italian dishes.
No seats - takeout and delivery service only. |

I probably shouldn't, but for some reason I trust apple to have my data more than any other company. Again, I don't why, and I'm sure it's their marketing and poop that's got me thinking that way, but I do. I liked when they refused to engineer a code to break into the San Bernardino shooter's phone even though the US government ordered them to (overstepping of power IMO). I don't know if that made any headlines up north or not. - RickJames77
yes this story did make news up here, and believe they did get some kudos for taking the stance that they did, though I believe the FBI or whoever still devised a way to crack it in a brute force fashion. I also feel that Apple jumped on the recognition they got from that case, and in turn greatly increased their marketing around security accordingly.
As a developer who has worked in the banking industry, stored customer data is easier to access then you might think. Combine that with some employers not necessarily paying all employees fair market wages. The risk for internal corruption is pretty high imo. |

If you can pull it off, it's smart business wise. You just rent out the space needed for cooking, no extra space for the tables, no need to pay or manage a waitstaff, no need for a liquor license, limited liability when it comes to customer accidents, on and on. |

I suggested they just open the phone with a band saw and get the info that way.
I'm still waiting for my $1 million. |

I think the food cost is in line with liquor costs - both ~30%. It's a missed revenue stream for sure, but I'd be interested if the opportunity cost of being a traditional restaurant is worth not taking the benefits these guys get with their model. Also, these percentages are rough and pertain to the US. I assume there more or less the same though. Actually, liquor and beer cost percentages are probably higher in Canada what with the crazy costs in general. Or do they just pass the buck and charge that much more for a beer or drink out? I wasn't really paying attention to my tabs last time I was up there.
Bobbyis1, or whatever, probably knows the answer to these questions. |
