The Sharks dropped their 4th straight game last night against NSH. Thursday is a good time for the Hawks to continue SJS's season opening woes. - boilermaker100
You know it doesn't work that way. The Hawks are totally set-up for a poor effort and corresponding results. |

Well that combined we'll be facing an angry SJ team with new reacquire Marleau. |

Not trying to be sarcastic or anything liek that (*shocker*), but it seems like a team on a losing streak combined with a long layoff for the Hawks is a recipe for disaster. |

Congrats Foxy. Looking forward to your Hog reports.
I see their next opponent is Grand Rapids on Saturday. Grand Rapids usually has a very good team, mainly because Detroit keeps their prospects down on the farm for longer than other teams (it seems) and again this season they sent down their top prospects - Zadina, Veleno, and Svechnikov. Should be a good early season test for our young piglets. |

No sign of Jake Wise - the forgotten man. - EbonyRaptor
Wise has been riddled with injuries as of late. I really want this guy to stay healthy to really see what his potential could be. |

He missed almost the whole season last year but I thought he was healthy heading into this season.

For the record, I go by either Theo or Ted. They're both short for Theodore. Let's go with Theo or Fox rather than Ted the teddy bear sidekick to Mark Wahlberg. |

I actually agree. I think this is the perfect opportunity for a frustrated Sharks team to start bouncing back. I hope I'm wrong, but I predict the Hawks getting smoked. |

Kind of surprising that he is ahead of Mitchell, no? - Chunk
Not when the guy referred to Mitchell as an offensive D-man. He isn't. He is a 2-way D-men who is not flashy but makes all the little, smart plays a D-man needs to do.
He plays within the structure of the team. He has the ability to take the puck end to end but chooses to pass the puck because its the smarter play.
He isn't a kid who jumps out at you in a quick viewing but having watched him quite a bit at DU, you find yourself liking how efficient he is with his decisions. |

Hey, Bread, it says Theo, not Ted. Wake up son.
Foxy, congrats on the gig. I appreciate the Rockford info. One piece of advice - pay no attention to Elbows. - mohel
Thanks for the advice, mohel. My HockeyBuzz ELC was set to expire so I re-upped on a decent bridge deal which includes interacting with all posters and doing cooking demos at Jewel. I drew the line at wearing a leprechaun outfit like Roenick did before the outdoor Notre Dame game.
J/K Elbows. Love reading your posts and learn quite a bit from you.
BTW, my bridge deal comes complete with a NTC. So I can't be traded to the Predators blog or Coyotes blog. |

Well, we were pretty sure Dach wasn't going to be getting his first game tomorrow against SJ so this just confirms that. Hopefully soon ...

Always glad for more input from Theo.
Again I will ask - not as criticism, but out of ignorance - are Derick King and his assistants the right coaches to develop all of this talent in Screw Machine City? - StLBravesFan
Great question, STL. My personal view is that King is okay but not optimal as the head coach to develop prospects for NHL duty.
You know who was ideal? Colliton. I know this will re-open Pandora's Box on a topic we've all litigated ad nauseam since last November. I felt that Colliton was great at developing the prospects.
Was it the right choice to promote Colliton so soon when things were going well in Rockford for him? Remains to be seen with what he can do with the Hawks and King with the Hogs. I'm willing to give them the chance. |

others have made similar points but over the last two years when struggling teams limp into the UC...they get healthy...
plus the sharks having marleau back changes everything...
hawks will come out sluggish...fall behind early...get back into the game and lose |
