I dont think anyone said they just got him so they can buy him out. It was just stated that if it didn't work out here that at least buying him out was an option unlike the Lucic deal.

I read a lot of bloggers/journalists in the summer saying Neal was only here for a year so Holland could buy him out for more savings than a Lucic buyout would provide for extra flexibility to put his stamp on the team next year.

Neal was given every opportunity in the top 6. I really just think after 2 long finals back to back he was spent. Had this summer to recoup and is playing like he has something to prove.

I know it’s early but this kinda has the 2016-2017 season feeling where they surprised me with every play and they’re getting those bounces that for WTF reasons wouldn’t happen are happening. Neal 6 goals in 2 games 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯. I’m excited for the season and doubt all the haters! Keep it up boys!

the second that trade was made I knew that Edmonton had absolutely pulled on over on Calgary.

Neal had several years of consistent 30 goal production....has 1 off year in Calgary, and the flames dump him for arguably the worst contract in the NHL.

Neal will easily score 30 again on a line with McDavid, while the Flames will be cursing Lucic for the remainder of that contract.

Neal wont play on Mcdavids line, he is best suited for 2nd line duty with RNH. Neal on the top PP unit is where he is going to shine, where he doesn't have to worry about back checking against the other teams top line, he just has to sit in front and tap in passes and rebounds.

makes sense....either way, he'll get his fair share of minutes with McDavid, and RNH is obviously a strong player also. point is, he'll always be with a strong center, and will end up with a poop load of goals as a result....meanwhile Lucic will be caveman-ing it up in Calgary and end up with like 20 pts

My fantasy day in one sentence: Other wingers (Neal) scored Huge(!), while my centers got nothing, and when their centers scored... ya, you guess it - my players can be found easily in boxscores: They are the few ones with blank lines.
