Simon is finally on the top line like you've been asking for and you want to take him off for ZAR? This account has definitely been hacked!

LOL

I just think given the situation that Simon at center is a better option to spread the wealth.

Anyone interested in grabbing Josh Ho Sang from the Islanders? Kid has the skill, but i guess has an attitude that makes the skill set easy to ignore.

I'd rather get a guy like him and plug him on Crosby's wing (better than the current plan of Zach franking Aston Reese.) That month+ that he will have before guys like Rust/Bjugstad/Malkin get back will give him enough of a tryout to see if something is there. If not, you plug him in the AHL or hope another team claims him and you do not extend him a qualifying offer in the offseason.

I see it as a low risk, moderate-to-high reward move.

I'd actually rather get Sprong back. Had they not screwed up his first year and made him waiver eligible too soon, he'd probably still be on the team and this would be his chance with both top RWs and the left board PP spot open.

I don't take the trade back because I like Pettersson, but I do wonder if he'd fit here better now post Kessel.

Sprong had his chance more than once, and he couldn't even score in the preseason games... even for Ducks he is a borderline roster player.
Sprong-So 2.0, please No.

Really looking forward to seeing how they manage tonight. They have great excuses if they lose...theyre missing a franchise player 2C, top 6 winger and their 3C...but I think they can do better than most are giving them a chance to. We'll see how it all looks soon enough.

If they're getting him for free (low draft pick), sure. Seems like he's cocky and defensively unreliable......perfect fit with Sullivan.

I'm sure the Jets icing half of their starting D core evens things out. I think Pionk is the only non rookie starter playing tonight.

Any ideas on what the Isles would want for Ho-Sang? 2nd rounder? 3rd rounder? A or B level prospect back?

cant be that at all. guy was put on waivers and anyone could've claimed him, so they were willing to give him away for free.

Wouldn’t mind Marleau on a 1yr/$1M contract to bolster the bottom six if LTIR can make it happen.

Probably not a bad option with Sid and Jake in the interim.

Yeah I think I'd be fine with that too. They were saying on HCaN the other day that he is working out and skating almost every day in anticipation of getting a gig somewhere in the league and that he feels confident that he will land somewhere.

The Ducks RWs are pretty good: Kase, Silverberg, Terry.

Sprong has talent, but always thought he'd have problems adjusting to not being a top option because he feasted on the PP. He can still be a useful player I he learns some awareness without the puck because the guy has skill, size, and speed. But Ducks are a bad fit with all their young, skilled wings they can pay instead of him.

7. Soft-tissue injuries are tricky, which is why Pittsburgh didn’t originally give an exact timeline on Evgeni Malkin. Depending on the damage, recovery can take a month or longer, especially if it’s a meniscus. Hopefully, it’s not bad — we all want to see Malkin playing. His health has a huge effect on the Metropolitan Division in general, and what the Penguins will do in particular. They looked energized by Sidney Crosby’s decision to fight Pierre-Luc Dubois last Saturday, scoring on the next shift then adding three more in a 7–2 win. Somehow, though, I’m not expecting him to do that every night.

8. A lot of the trade talk on the Penguins blue line surrounds Jack Johnson, but another possibility is Juuso Riikola. He hasn’t got into a game yet.

20. Joshua Ho-Sang has made it very clear to any team who asks that he will not have a problem beginning anew in the AHL. He’s also taken pains to point out that his next organization will not be his fourth, fifth or sixth, simply his second. Teams are wary, but they are poking around. One exec said this trade could be slightly more complex if the Islanders look for conditions depending on how often Ho-Sang play

Just my personal opinion, but the league should have simply suspended him indefinitely for "refusing" to play for the Canes, who traded for him. The reason at that time given was that he wants to be with his family at West coast (and obviously his dream that the Sharks just wait for him...), which makes our franchise most likely just a secondary option.

I’m almost certain there was an understanding prior. Canes got a 1st.

Not sure if someone said it already but RW is incorrect: Morrissey is out for tonight’s contest. Adam Gretz wrote an article on how none of the Jets starting 6 D from last year will play tonight

Finally some recognition for Terry! How about them Ducks btw? I saw them against AZ and watch the highlights against SJ. They look solid and John Gibson has already had some showstopper saves

I’m good with this but at the same time with Geno and Bjugstad out this feels like the perfect time to try Galchenyuk with Sid and Jake imo. I would also give Blueger 3C duty over Simon

Not to mention if Chucky played lights out with Sid and Jake we'd have nothing but Sid gets all the best players blogs to deal with.

Not to be a negative nancy, but this screams of a game where their goalie just shuts it down and we say they ran into a hot goalie.

Given that Kahun looks pretty un-good, I’m pretty in favor of giving Ho-Sang a look. I doubt he’d pan out here given the direction Sullivan has decided on, but oh well. Pretty low risk.

We could trade Riikola for a conditional 7th and I wouldn’t care. He’s 25 and wasn’t able to crack a pretty poopty lineup. If he were 20, it’d be one thing, but there is no potential there anymore.
