I don't see that this trade is a huge big deal! The Rangers made it no question they wanted to dump salary whether it be Kreider, Names or Strome. Let's get this part right as well once we got Trouba Shatty was a buyout no matter what! If we had dumped Names during the summer we still would have bought out Shatty and for good reason. Even with his huge discount to play for the Rangers he didn't live up to his contract, I wish he had signed with the Devils for 8M per for 6 or 7 years!!!!
The reason they bought him out now is because we know we are playing well, however our number 2 line isn't putting the puck in net and we do not have a true number 2 center! We don't need the best number 2 center but we need someone who is better than Strome at number 2 who will motivate Kreider and help Kakko. I honestly was hoping they would have given Names a shot at this I like is hard-nose play of standing in front of the net, going into the corners and his defense, unfortunately that didn't happen. I don't think the Rangers are looking to fill this role long term but just for a year or two until Chytil, Anderson or Howden is ready to step up into that position. Strome is better suited at number 3 or 4 center not 2! I thought he might be but I think I was wrong. - patersonnick46
They were always going to buy out Shatty is correct. Teams wern't going to bend over backwards to help us. It's no coincidence, once the season started, that we had no trouble in trading Names.
I'm actually with you in that I wanted to try Names there first. I would actually like to see Lias get a shot for a few games and see what happens. I think Lias centering Kakko and Kreider could be a wrecking ball of a north-south kinda line.

I actually looked at this stat last weekend, as well. Shocked me that there is only about 3.5 years difference in avg. age from the youngest team to the oldest (Minn. or Dal. I forget). |

Just thanked Tanner for the vacation. So... there's a 65% chance I'll be gone again for a while!
Hopefully back in time for the Rangers next game! |

Totally off topic to today's hockey related discussion, but did you know there is a pornstar named Natalie Porkman? I couldn't stop laughing when I saw that for some reason |

It actually wasn't the REM comment. I also posted one telling Tanner that judging someone he doesn't know (Domi) and then recommitting to said opinion once someone pointed out that you shouldn't do that makes him an @sshole.
A little stronger, but far from the worst that goes on here. |

She named herself Porkman. I think we can assume a general lack of sense and sanity. |

To echo the Schwein's sentiment....I don't think most people in that industry are going to possess much about them that appears as "sane" |

Who said I wouldn't? I just said she's probably not sane. I've taken down my fair share of certifiable Grade-A nutjobs before, believe me |

I've probably had 2-3 that were varying degrees of bonkers. Good for the doin' sex part. Not good for...well anything else, really. |
