I have zero details so it could be 100% BS, but the same Winnipeg fan said he had a source that said the locker room culture could have gone toxic big time. I wouldn't be surprised if Buff knew the whole time he wasn't coming back and just waited until the last minute to give a big f you to the team.

I feel like that's the go-to rumor for the online message board "I have sources" crowd when things aren't going well for a team

You aren't wrong. This is the guy that runs the hockey blog I play that postseason pool and has a weekly hockey show on Canadian radio in Winnipeg. So while it's still possible this is unfounded BS, I at least has some reason to believe him.

Since we were talking about Marleau, now is the time to say after watching them last night, Sharks are pretty bad you guys. Their defense looks horrendous, their forwards are having too many turnovers and Jones isn't exactly Patrick Roy. Considering they have already given their 1st to Ottawa and are laughably 7k under the cap with several long term contracts, these guys could be bad for a pretty long time.

that guy seemed invisible last night. I can't say that I know a ton about the Sharks, but it seemed kinda odd they didn't put both Burns and EK on PP1.

Burns, man he was a dog at even strength. He still has it in terms of offense, but he was worse than Shatty 5 on 5 defensively. Pretty careless with the puck too.

I don't see that this trade is a huge big deal! The Rangers made it no question they wanted to dump salary whether it be Kreider, Names or Strome. Let's get this part right as well once we got Trouba Shatty was a buyout no matter what! If we had dumped Names during the summer we still would have bought out Shatty and for good reason. Even with his huge discount to play for the Rangers he didn't live up to his contract, I wish he had signed with the Devils for 8M per for 6 or 7 years!!!!

The reason they bought him out now is because we know we are playing well, however our number 2 line isn't putting the puck in net and we do not have a true number 2 center! We don't need the best number 2 center but we need someone who is better than Strome at number 2 who will motivate Kreider and help Kakko. I honestly was hoping they would have given Names a shot at this I like is hard-nose play of standing in front of the net, going into the corners and his defense, unfortunately that didn't happen. I don't think the Rangers are looking to fill this role long term but just for a year or two until Chytil, Anderson or Howden is ready to step up into that position. Strome is better suited at number 3 or 4 center not 2! I thought he might be but I think I was wrong.
