Speaking of the Edmonton Game. I was supposed to go to that game. However, my daughter just started playing in the Rangers' learn to play program and absolutely loves playing hockey so that is taking priority at this point.

If anyone wants to go to the game please let me know.

I wish I could go but I'll be in Rochester. (No offense to anyone there I just don't want to drive that far)

very pleasantly surprised when this trade went down last night, I would have taken a buyout in August, so to get something and only have to retain 750K is just a coup

I really don't understand why Ottawa would want him, other than maybe they think he can build his trade value and they get more for him at the deadline

it reminds me of the Rangers trade for Adam McQuaid where they were able to recoup a 4th rounder for him at the deadline after giving up a 4th for him before season

that's what it looks like to me for Ottawa

I have no idea why Ottawa would make this deal. It really makes no sense at all. Names isnt going to do anything for them. I will bet this trade just manifested itself because if this trade was available over the summer JG would have pulled the trigger instantly. Ottawa must have initiated it.

I want to go. It is all but a mathematically certainty that I cannot, but that isn't what you asked!!

Thats awesome that your daughter loves to play!! My daughters love the sport and took instantly too it! We need more girls to play hockey. Im up in Putnam County and there just arent enough female players!! Its hard to field an all girls team.

I have no idea, but its shady as poop that the "commissioner" is in last place almost all year, squeaks into the playoffs and wins.

I was channeling my inner Blues.

I got off to a really bad start when I botched my starting lineup in the first week or two. I dropped/added a player and it benched most of my guys for some reason.

You have to remember where Ottawa is right now. Stinky is a better forward option than a lot of what they have in place. He's coachable and dependable on defense. I don't think you can overstate how important that could be to a bottom-feeding team. They may not be able to ice the greatest line-up. Hell, they may not even want to! But, they can try to prevent a losing culture from growing until they can.

We can spin it anyway we want but this trade doesnt make any sense unless Ottawa flips Names for a pick in this years draft. Adding Names isnt going to change their culture in the locker room or on the ice.

Kreider played C in juniors did he not? We drafted him as a C.... maybe we should give it a shot... Chytil, Kreider, Kakko

But, they most likely don't want to win games. While simultaneously not wanting to appear that this is the case. Stinky can help them be mediocre. And I still say he's better than a lot of what they've got going on right now.
But, and this is the truly important part, who gives a rats ass!!!! Not our problem anymore!!

Kreider is not a good stick handler or a vision guy. He's best at skating in a straight line and standing in front of the goalie.

This guy is basically Kreider on the ice

I agree with stick handling...but he makes some sweet passes. You don't give him enough credit with vision
