whenever I think of Pink Floyd without Roger Waters, I think they sounded like Bruce Hornsby and the Range

which was fine for them, but bad for Pink Floyd

Dark Side of the Moon was a great album, but I think you are talking about more recent times. I dunno, Division Bell has grown on me over the years. Keep Talking is an underrated hit.

Haha! Can't say as I've made that observation. Although, admittedly, the only Floyd I know well are The Wall, Dark Side and their other radio hits.
My band will be doing some Floyd in-gig for the first time tomorrow night. Comfortably Numb and Breathe. Next month we have a lady joining us who plays fiddle and mandolin. The fiddle will absolutely kill on Comfortably Numb!!

Division Bell is one of the better late stage albums from a 60s 70s band. You need to loop it and listen a few times to have it click.

And High Hopes. Instant classic. I mean, Nightwish covered it, so you know it's good!

lol. I doubt it! We recently played at a friend's 50th bday party and he is a HUGE Rush fan. I brought up that we needed to learn at least one song. Seeing as I only sing, not play an instrument, the rest of the band told me to (frank) right off!
I wanted to do Presto since we only have an acoustic guitar player.
Our drummer and keyboardist got him quite pumped with about 40 seconds of Subdivisions before we broke into Happy Birthday!!

Oh yeah! Thanks, Pete.
I'm really looking forward to it. She played with us last fall and we've actually come a long way since then. We did Wish You Were Here with her on fiddle, it was my favourite part of the night. Also looking forward to Dust in the Wind and Reason to Believe!!

I’ve heard if you’re gonna play in Texas, you gotta have a fiddle in the band

Very cool, man!! My old band used to do a ton of Rush songs, but it was all older stuff. My favorites were the stuff from Hemispheres and Fly By Night. We also did Jacob's Ladder which was really cool.

I am a big Floyd fan ---- "Momentary Lapse of Reason" is in my top 5 of all albums ever.
Also like the lesser known "The Endless River". It was there last album and has some great stuff on it...

When I worked at a record store someone came in around Christmas looking for a Pink Floyd album for their kid.
"which album?"
"Um, I think it was called A Momentary Lapse of Memory?"

Loving the Rush love down south!!
I’d imagine no women like them down there either, eh?

Years ago, my daughter started playing drums for a short time. I broke out my vinyl "Exit Stage Left" album and let her listen to "YYZ" and the rest... She really got into it for a short, fleeting time.
