Anyone see the article on B/R talking about how if Skjei doesnt get his poop together they may not protect him come the Seattle expansion draft. With all the solid D prospects they have, and the hype around some of them (Im particularly high on K’Andre), he also goes on to mention DeAngelo may not be safe either. Pretty crazy to think about right now in the current time. However, we cant just have a revolving door of young kids and no stability outside of Trouba the next 4 yrs.

as of right now, if the rule still is they need to expose one defenseman with 40+ games of NHL experience, they'd have to expose Skjei or Tony D, but who knows who will be here still when the expansion draft takes place in 2021

Skeji is 25 years old and will be 27 the expansion year, I agree with you that we don't even know if he will be here, but I'm not sure it would be as big a deal as people will make it out to be. I actually think there is a pretty strong chance that we wouldn't resign him anyway when he's a UFA.

the way I look at it, we have to lose somebody in the expansion draft

I just don't want them to do something stupid like Columbus and the Islanders did like making a side deal to protect somebody else

just accept losing somebody and move on, it's only 1 player
