Dahlin needs to be signed in the next month please

He’s going to be top 5 in scoring

- gerbe75pts

He has another year left, you cannot extend him until 7/1/20.

i'm enjoying it while it lasts...what's particularly fun is that they'll have $33-34M in cap space next year and some youngins ready to step into roles

It'll be interesting to see what they do when Montour and Pilut are healthy

Or they might just send down Gilmour and call it a day

- mattmoulson

Pilut is in Rochester. So he will start there

So Victor Olofsson ... how many goals does he get this season ?

Keep him with Jack and keep him on the PP, then I'd say at least 25. Doesn't matter if teams key on VO - it just won't matter with that kind of shot.

this team dominated the first 6 periods of hockey

yes it's only 2.5% of the season but they dominated 2 fringe playoff teams

upbeat attacking system we were promised 2.5 years ago

very refreshing

asplund and tage ready to come up if needed
montour coming back

sobotka looks fine on the second line, I would like tage or vesey there but he is doing well

it's almost like we are seeing what we wanted the day peggy signed tim murray

Exactly!!
Risto hasn't looked disinterested or coasting at all...under the circumstances I find that commendable. Zombie is playing way better than Sobotka, but then so is everyone else. Vesey hasn't been as good as I thought he would be

Zemgus Girgensons, Johan Larsson, Vladimir Sobotka and Kyle Okposo are what they are up front, however they've been a part of this blitzkrieg and any flaws in their game have been masked.

Last night the 3 of them had 0% Ozone starts, and even though it's only been two games, they have the highest Corsi and Fenwick numbers on the team. I think they are definitely good at what they are asked to do.

I'm very impressed with Mojo. He has enough speed and very good vision/hands.

The play he made to Skinner is something we haven't seen from a 2nd or 3rd line in a long time.

He took the puck through the neutral zone, made guys miss and put a perfect pass on the tape from 30 feet away. 2 good players on the 2nd line? Crazytown

Some takeaways after watching highlights again this morning:

Number 90's play on the Skinner goal was outstanding. Picking the puck up in our zone and going coast to coast before sending a brilliant pass to a wide open Skinner was fun to watch.

Jack played one of his best games as a Sabre last night. His head nod to get Oloffson into the right spot was a glimpse into how high his hockey IQ is. Is this the year he gets 100 points?

Speaking of Oloffson. My god that shot! I know it's been talked about for the past year, but seeing it live now, I can't believe how fast he gets his shot off and with that much velocity on the puck. 25 goals isn't out of the question this year.

Sam's play on his breakaway goal, forcing Subban into that brutal giveaway was lowkey better than his finish.

Can't wait for tomorrow's game!

Subban looks as bad and maybe a little worse than we've said on this board when that trade happened.

The Sabres for once actually had a good game day presentation during a game. The intro was great.

I like the role Sobotka plays, and for his talent level, I honestly think he's done admirably. He's positive in possession. He's not getting caved in, based on 2 games.

However, the elements he's missing are skill. And for a top 6, especially with those other two, you need to get them the puck, and be able to handle it when mojo or skinner hit you with a pass near the net. He can't do it. So, in all, he could be much more of a train wreck than he currently is, but he just flat out doesn't belong there, skills wise. Find someone with his physical traits that can handle the puck. Don't think I'm saying anything new here. Only 'news' is that he's not drowning his line. But also not lifting them either

I remember when hiring a soccer coach was a disaster. It was May 14 and 15, 2019. I also remember the poster who was leading the criticism of the hire.

While Sobotka has played well in that role for two games that the Sabres have dominated, he obviously isn't the solution. Wondering if he is a 10-game placeholder for Tage or Asplund assuming they light it up in Rochester.

Cozens getting his 9 games at 2RW might be interesting as well....

Totally smart move on Wet Grass, with Two Weeks of no Football after this game.
