I'm trying to stay on an even keel.

But the style is so much more fun to watch. And the players seem to be having a blast.

Me too. But that’s why I just don’t even know what the hell is happening. Is it possible that Housley was really that clueless?

And if it really was that bad, why didn’t Botts pull the plug on him during the season? It’s just insane to me that even for just a few games that they would be capable of this.

During the winning streak last year they were getting lucky. The analytics said they weren’t really doing well, they just happened to get some good bounces. Yes, they’re definitely still getting some bounces now, but the analytics couldn’t possibly be more opposite. (And I’m not even big into them, but at some point it can’t just be a coincidence)

I seriously wonder what the hell Housley was doing last year. Because while there have been changes to the roster, are they really that significant that it should make that much of a difference?
- HonkFortheGoose

I thought the general consensus at the beginning of the year was that not much had changed...they brought in a couple of forwards that would add depth and hopefully secondary scoring and a couple of right-handed d-men...

same deplorables with the lockport line, Sobotka and Scandella with risto still on the team...same goalie tandem as well...

I mentioned that to my husband when they showed the replay. His grin was from ear to ear and he looked like he was just loving life in that moment.

Maybe Botts had an inkling that Ralph was ready to come back? And he figured, why change now? Let's get the high pick.

I'm just speculating 😂

Right. This was my feelings. A few upgrades here and there. Joker, Johansson, having Olofsson up from the A. I mean, at this point, that’s about it right? The rest of the guys in the lineup are the same as last year. Gilmore is here, but he hasn’t played in a regular season game yet so I’m not counting him.

IMO Housley was trying to implement a system that was not optimal for his roster. And when things went to poop, he didn’t know how to correct it.

Olofsson and Joker playing great

But I,ve been watching Johansson closely and I feel he is severely underrated.

His moves are smooth and effortless

The devils and pens are bad ..... real bad.

Sabres also played 2 good games.

Hasek is the best goalie to ever play in the nhl. That is not even bias. So he is ahead of Gilbert.

Not sure if you thought I was being negative, but my point was they need to go for it now.

Who are you kicking out?

IMO - he was the best player of all time. He revolutionized the game from the backend. He could single-handly change the outcome of a game.

Pens beat the Blue Jackets 7-2 tonight. Guess we’ll have to wait and see for ourselves on Monday what exactly the Blue Jackets look like.

that's been happening for the last four seasons...all the posts about ror, kane, risto, Girgensons, Scandella...after every game the hammers came out, the charts came out, the colorful analytics blobs came out...it was relentless
- Michael Pachla

It’s almost as if using past stats can’t accurately predict things like effort and coaching? Amazing.

Housley also never seemed to coach to the opponent.

He just had them play the same way against every team which made us predictable and it obviously didn’t work

Good job by Sobotka driving to the net to push back the defenseman & open up that passing lane for MoJo

And our horrible garbage players on line4 getting a goal as well

Credit where credit is due

- jdfitz77

Little back reading, but I'll say it again.
DPR does things the other two don't/won't do. If he had even a little more offensive touch, I can get behind that line
