Same, I really didn't like him at center last year, but he's looked great in limited time there so far.

Other thoughts, until they track net front screens tat lead to goals, we aren't measuring Hornqvist's full value. Two of those already plus 2 goals, great start for him.

Worth his contract or not, Tanev is fun to watch and he's creating chances.

Same. If he keeps bringing that every game his contract is gonna be worth it. People often forget there are other ways to bring value to your team other than scoring.

IMO Hornqvist came back way too early after that concussion last season. Took him at least a month or so to look "right" after he returned. Eventually he looked fine but got zero puck luck. Just like Kessel who went through a long drought last year. Couldn't buy a goal even though their games were the same.

My only fear is the concussion issues. A net front pest is going to draw fire. The Pens will miss his attributes if he gets traded or hurt.

For anyone who cares: Phil looks good in AZ he’s just not getting quality touches and there’s no goal support from the other lines. Case and point in game 1 only one forward played more than 14 minutes and that was Schmaltz. Any offensive player knows it’s hard to get into a rhythm with kind of ice time

I saw it. The movie is great. Weather or not I like that version of the joker? Probably not.

Total team effort last night. The good news is, the whipping boys (JJ, Guds, Hornqvist, Tanev & Galchenyuk) led the way. That is just not going to happen every night and it shouldn't. But they do need to play this way to balance the team out.

The bad news is the injuries to Malkin and Bjugstad. Hopefully both are just minor injuries and they return Tuesday.
