I could see Ehlers for one of the Isles D men plus a pick.

Isles have some really good young D men in Pulock, Pelech, Mayfield, Toews, Dobson. I could see the Jets taking Mayfield and a 2nd for Ehlers.

No chance the Jets do this trade. A 26 year old 5/6 d-man and a 2nd, come on be serious.

Yeah I mean we have no talent so I can’t imagine it ever working.
- Cptmjl

Yep, not what I said at all. I just don't think they make good trading partners. Winnipeg would be looking for a RHD, and I assume that would mean Dobson or Pulock, which would probably be non starts for NYI.

I also think Winnipeg will end up trading Appleton or Roslovic for something before Ehlers.

Agreed. I can’t see them trading him either along with not believing lameriello would trade Pulock or Dobson. Love to have him he instantly makes our team better but I can’t see it.

Lameriello was unwilling to give up Dobson for a signed stone at the deadline. Pulock has developed into a number one for us. The only way I could see him being traded is if there is some considerations for signing Barzal next summer and we could dump some salary along the way with him. Doubtful.

Chevy is desperate spot.

Lou will ride it out.

Chevy already ruined a very good defensive group. About to ruin some goalies now.

Or the Islanders were scouting the Jets for their next game in the coming days?

I suppose with money committed to Wheeler, Laine, and Connor, Ehlers could be the odd man out. But with the Jets desperately in need of right defensive help, I can't imagine The Isles being a good trading partner. I'm not too sure how enticing Pulock or Mayfield is. And Boychuk is kind of yesterday's news. You'd have to assume there's a much better trade partner out there. Cough* cough* Ristolainen

"I Their" should be "in their"

Ek boasts a minimum of one spelling or grammar mistake per paragraph. At least he's consistent. That's a solid corsi %.

E4 = almost done so I guess a 2nd and mayfield it is. Can’t wait to see Ehlers in blue and orange.

Just spitballing here... but what if the Jets told Buff to stay away for a little while to make them cap compliant.
If he would come back today, they would be $1 million over the cap. They pay Buff under the table so they don't have to get rid of anyone. We all know they were in a mess to try to get Connor and Laine signed.
Within a week Laine and Connor signs, and Buff announces a crazy last minute decision.
If he magically comes back at the 11th Jets game, it'll be mighty suspicious.

Like I said, not saying that's the case....just thinking out loud.

I read :

“The Islanders offer includes former first round pick, RHD Ryan Pulock and disgruntled prospect Josh Ho-Sang, who recently demanded a trade. A 2nd round pick would also be going to Winnipeg.”

Ho sang and hickey have no value. Any team could’ve just had them for free. I like boychuck but even Winnipeg that needs defense isn’t taking on his contract. The rest have value.
- Cptmjl

I disagree, it's not that they have no value, I believe it was either too early for teams to make a jump, hopping other teams would waive someone better or they had their roster full and in order to get them, they would have to trade someone away.
