JC seems confident of sticking here for a while - he and his family just bought a $1.63MM house in Lakeview (Chicago Tribune).

Don't let Scottak know where, he'll be picketing on the lawn...or maybe outside the gatehouse. Who am I kidding, you can't get a gatehouse for $1.6M in Chicago.

I heard it's the in-laws quarters of Kane's house.

Many are so eager to prove themselves correct that JC stinks, that they say strange things like that. They could be right, but saying that they aren't any better with two solid NHL defensemen than they are with their AHL stand-ins makes me discount their stuff.

It reminds me of the Trubisky thing but that's on a national level. Funny how they all compare him to Mahomes, how about we compare all the 1st round picks of QBs in the last 20 years to Mahomes, well they all pretty much suck except Rodgers.

The Bears could have traded down a couple of spots, picked up a couple more draft choices and still picked Mahomes, instead of trading up, giving away picks and selecting Trubisky.

Of course who knows if Mahomes would have flourished in the Nagy system. The bright side for the Bears is that they won't have to pay Mitchell the 30 or so million a year they would have to pay Patrick.

Here's a link to capfriendly showing NHL head coach salaries. Many, including JC, are listed as unknown, but based on comparables he's probably in the 1.5M range.

Doubt if he paid cash, unless his wife is the dough. Wonder what his mortgage payment is.

Yep, it’s a relevant lament to wonder “what if” - Pace certainly didn’t need to trade up to get ‘Bisky. Also, I have no doubts about Mahomes being successful in Nagy’s offense (despite his allergic disposition toward run plays) - that kid can create something on even the most busted of plays. His read/react instincts are off the charts.

Could of would of should of is easy, i appreciate the fact Pace understands this is a QB driven league and was bold about it. Funny how the Bears get criticized but yet all the other teams that passed on him get a free pass. Remember when he didn't trade up and we ended up with White instead of Amari Cooper?

I always find it fascinating how all the analysts had Alex Smith as the best QB on the board, and with the 24th pick the Packers draft Rodgers, and he's never compared to him, (frank)ing media is a joke

And im sure you had no doubts that Mahomes was going to be the better quarterback like everybody else, even though Reid came out and said Trubisky was the best prospect in the draft

JC's contract expires at the end of next season. If he's not around at that time, he could flip this place and probably come out ahead.

Quite true on Mahomes. The guy's amazing. But, for perspective....every team passed on Tom Brady multiple times. Plenty also passed on Marino, and Rodgers. And Cade McNown.....oh, wait.

https://walterfootball.com/draft2017QB.php

This site had Trubisky, Watson, Mahomes listed as the 1,2,3 QB prospects. Either the light bulb hasn't turned on for Mitch yet, or the scouts got it wrong.

It may never turn on, some plays he makes a great play and some plays he's just bad. Mahomes is a freak that's what im trying to get at what he is doing has never been done before the closest was Marino.

My point is let Mitch develop if you really look at the last 10 years there really is no franchise QB drafted in the 1st round other than maybe Luck double digit INTs, maybe Wentz and Goff but they have their blemishes as well, but so many fans and media members are like well if ge doesn't do it this year he's a bust? Look at some past franchise QBs so many it takes year 3, 4, 5 to reach their full potential.

Nagy admitted it takes 3 years to learn his offense

Apparently, about as long as it will take to learn Colliton’s system, whatever it is.

That was good,

Little tidbit, 49ers even giving away all those draft picks in 2 years the Bears still out drafted the 49ers? Yet you don't hear this at all the media can't handle being misled or wrong, other than drafting Kittle they basically have drafted a bunch of back ups.

Nope, I didn’t see Mahomes doing what he’s doing on this level.

Look, I want to be wrong on this matter. I want to be really, really, wrong. I want to see ‘Bisky come back and light it up for the rest of the season - with he and Nagy operating underneath some sort of weird mind-meld that leaves us all wondering WTF? I want ‘Bisky to be so good that he ends a press conference in late December wearing a stupid light-up holiday sweater and looks into the camera and says “Oh by the way, Chief4Feathers can suck it!”

But, right now? I don’t have a positive feeling about how this is shaping up.

Just a lot of the SOS. Keith sucks, Crawford sucks, Gus sucks, Collitin sucks, the system sucks, Trubisky sucks.

Fair enough, i hope for the same, but at least he doesn't lose us games like Cutler or many other QBs did, even in the Fox era we were in all those games but Philly, and he didn't turn into a pumpkin like Dalton does in the playoffs. It's not like he's 5-25 against winning teams like Cousins is either.

Just one other thing, I'm really curious to see which QB from this draft will win the most SB rings? KC has no defense, if defenses take Hopkins out of the game Watson is a different QB, Mitch has that wonderful defense so he doesn't have to be great just average for now. Time will tell.
