Flames have looked much better without Lucic for 17 minutes.
It’s called addition by subtraction.

Too slow to keep up and doesn’t have the hockey sense to make up for it.
Constantly out of position.

Sorry, he’s finished.

Go troll somewhere else...Lucic did his job tonight

Flames got better as the game went on, evened up the SOG, shame about the high stick goal

I'm sure we will have a better start on Saturday but beware of little bit of sloppiness from the home opener nerves

He's already had more of a positive impact on the game than Neal ever did last year. If Lucic plays like this 75% of the time, the trade was a massive win for the Flames.

I sadly didn’t get to catch the whole game so I can’t say anything about Lucic but it’s funny because everything you have said about Lucic is what Oilers fans were saying about Neal last night.....maybe this ends up as a both teams win kind of thing.....with all that said tho it’s one game

Typical opening game for the Flames. Give Colorado credit, they’re a good team.
Liked lots of things tonight, Kylington made some mistakes but overall I thought he had a good game. Bennett needs to get a shot on that 2nd line, him and Chucky playing together would be entertaining to say the least. Lindholm had a good game as well, he was a beast on the pk. Eric Francis sucks a$$ do we have to listen to that twat all year? Looch looks like a Neanderthal out there but I’m glad we got him, him manhandling big Z was good to see. Everyone else on the bench grows 2” with him there. As usual, didn’t notice Neal out there, Peters bench him again? Gio just ageless! Gotta love that.

Next up the Canucks! I’m going fishing with the boys, gonna have to listen to it on Sirius . Go Flames!

Lucic is certainly a better 4th liner than Neal...Flames didn't have a spot for Neal (that is why he played in the bottom six/healthy scratch) Probably a better fit for both

Both got something they needed. I’m happy with Looch and watched Neal make some good plays last night. You’re right it’s 1 game, let’s talk again after 10

Lucic was even fine on the top line. I'm not saying he was great but saw none of the things Oilers fans have been saying about him having zero hockey sense. He won some battles, went where he was supposed to go, and had no problems getting the puck to the people who were supposed to end up with the puck.

Obviously, the Flames top line isn't better with Lucic on it, but the Flames are better if he can play like that on the top line and they can get something going with Bennett and Lindholm.

Gaudreau did get a whole lot better when Lucic was in the box, but I'd put that mostly on it being the first game of the season than Lucic holding him back.

Agreed Lindholm kills penalties and the Flames took a billion of them. They threw Lucic out with 13 and 23 only after penalties and he looked fine

You could also say the team gained momentum after Lucic tuned a guy in

Really though the refs put their whistles away and the Flames carried the play 5 on 5...special teams battle with the Avs is not smart (although there were some ridiculous calls)

Well yeah, but he still got a bunch of shifts with them and things were fine with him out there.

This is something the team has been lacking for a long long time. Really hoping Luc Can find ways to make positive contributions.

The Russian will think twice next time, which is exactly what should happen.

LOL Zadorov was trying to draw a penalty up 3-2 which he did but also got a bogus boarding call and BS fighting penalty. If he actually dropped the gloves he would destroy old man Lucic. That werido is such a tool hahaha!

He took like 5 strides at the guy, he earned that boarding call. Probably should have gotten 5 for that. The 5 min for holding on to Lucic was surprising. The clip is funny though...he's looking at the Ref with the 'please help me' look on his face.

Probably, but from an oiler fan perspective, you will soon find that Lucic does more hunting than fighting. Nobody wastes their time with him, he just chases people around the ice until he gets frustrated enough to just pile on a guy, at which point he takes a penalty that will cost your team a goal or worse.

He never really intimidated anyone enough to worry about him. They would just provoke him and skate away, provoke him and skate away until he takes a penalty.
