They obviously aren't stupid men, but it's possible that they are out of their element in their positions at the NHL level. Look at WD, the guy has been a coach for a long time, yet he deployed a 1-2-3-4 line strategy with no line matching and playing his bottom 6 too many 5v5 minutes. The Kings literally hired him as their tank commander because he was that rare combination of respected, but not good


He's probably a decent AHL/WHL coach, but his mentality just wasn't cut out for the NHL.

i'd rather know what someone thinks rather than, "well, he could be right but he could be wrong."

It's such a ridiculous thought to just stick Hughes on PP1 with no experience instead of the guy with over a decade of experience who had a pretty solid year last year offensively
