I'm not digging breaking up Coots and Giroux, but I can see why AV would do it if he's not happy with what he's seeing on the ice. I expect them to be back together by the end of the month.
- jmatchett383

Its going to hurt Giroux more than it hurts Couturier. But it could work because Hayes is another big body who plays defense. Adding Voracek may help to offset that Coots/G split.

I can see Konecny scoring 30 playing with Couturier.

But yeah, they will prob be back together sooner than later.

Like most of you I'm not as concerned with the result as I am with the same old, same old from this club. I like AV and everything that he is saying. But it doesn't feel like we are grasping what he is preaching. Uninspired efforts in the preseason games I've watched. I was expecting a noticeable change in the pace of play. I haven't seen that.

I'm hoping that we can flip the switch on Friday when the games count, but I'm not so sure. Not sure what Plan B is if we don't get off to a good start.

Actions have consequences. If the Vets are phoning it in send a message by making everyone bag skate. If the effort is not acceptable, everyone suffers. This will wake them up especially when all the other guys start to get fed up.

Like I said, different coaches, different GMs, same problems. At a certain point you can't do anything else other than acknowledge the mix of players doesn't work, no matter how much you may like some players individually. I'll give them the 1st month if the season but we've seen this story too many times before.

The PP is terrible, no forward seems to have chemistry with anyone unless they're playing with Giroux. The defense is an ever work in progress. Sigh.

This is correct. If it comes down to it, a Dman needs to be traded ( maybe in a package ) for a scoring forward. I know we want to hold onto all our top Dmen, but we are getting nowhere like this and we have to force a change.

If they demote Twarysnki and Myers, they could get down to $81,365,356 with a 23 man roster (13 F, 8D, 2 G), although three of them are on IR so it's really a 20 man roster.

https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/flyers

G-C-TK
Lindblom-Hayes-Voracek
JVR-Laughton-Farabee
Raffl-Bunnaman-Pitlick(IR)
Patrick(IR)

Provorov-Niskanen
Ghost-Braun
Hagg-Sanheim
Morin-Welinski(IR)

Hart
Elliott

Then activate Pitlick off IR to be the 12th forward on Friday.

Richards mentioned he and Lavy really didn't get along and that Lavy always viewed Pronger as the Captain, despite teammates in the room knowing it was Richards. Said there was a slight disconnect over it.

As for being shipped out, he was told Carter was being traded to Kings. Eventually he was told he may get traded and said hey if they dont want me idc ship me out. He essentially took Carter's spot in the LA trade, then Carter was shockingly shipped to CLB. Richards felt if that team was kept together we would have won a cup

Did Richards say anything about his partying and his career crashing and burning? Did he say anything about constantly snapping at the media?

Yeah, in retrospect he was still the right option to go with though. Man the team went completely off the rails during that timeframe. Jvr for Schenn, sign bryz dump Bob, dump Bryz. FFS.
- Hextall271

Matt Carle goes from Chris Pronger to the great Marc-Andre Bourdon.

How many games did Pronger actually play with Bryz in net?

The only time I remember him snapping at the media was his, "What's the point?" response he gave when they were trying to dig into his (and Lupul's) personal life. He wasn't always a great quote like Briere or Pronger, but I never thought he was hostile in general.

He said he was young and a good bit of the team was young. He said he didn't sign the Dry Island thing because he knew he wouldn't keep his promise and felt that if he did (sign it) and didn't keep the promise of not drinking he would be a liar to the team.

Overall he spends most of his time fishing and playing golf nowadays. He gets to some games here and there but isn't involved in the game much (and it doesn't sound like that will change).

Didn't want to discuss the Lombardi stuff with the Kings.

He told some funny stuff about Hitchcock too.

On Twitter it was announced as opening night roster, 11 forwards and 7D, very bizarre if this is what they are going with.

They don't need to waive Morin for Pitlick to play. He just needs to be activated off IR.

Not directed at you, but before it starts, everyone needs to take a deep breath... Rosters need to be cap compliant by 5pm. They can put someone on LTIR after that and make other moves. Some of these are just paper transactions.
