Looking at moves made over last 8 months its clear the Canucks want a beefier and grittier line up that has decent speed and skill. Sven and Goldy don't fit in the new look and no trades to be had.

LE might still get waived when Roussel returns. As long as there are no other injuries. Plus the Gaudette factor. Determined by Green fitting AG in and how he holds up.

9 million in cap space with 3 more players needed according to capfriendly. Could just pick up Baert and not really worry about making a trade. They wanted Faulk though remember. He off market now.

I would like to see a claim put in on Sprong. Kind of a head case like Goldobin but with more hockey smarts and a higher skill level.

Fair.

I don't see this squad as a playoff team necessarily.
So many things have to go right for that to happen.
I think we have to see some regular season games before talking playoffs.

The more I look at the waiver list, the more I think Baertschi won't get claimed. Which to me makes it look like an even stranger move, but oh well.

Can't see teams grabbing him over Sprong or Ho-Sang.
