No it’s someone who has common sense.

But hey, can’t wait until he lays a big hit for a penalty or ices the puck 15 times on Thursday

Should be a blast again this year

- OneKaneOneCup

Then skip the year.

Then don't watch....

You are exactly the fan character in Major League... you want to talk all that trash all year about how your hockey knowledge is great but then the second they start winning you will be the first person here saying "I TOLD YOU SO!!! I SAID IT ALL YEAR!!"

Rasmus Dahlin, rookie, underlying numbers, phenomenal, best 18 year old performance for a dman in years.

Risto, 7th year in league. Underlying numbers still absolutely awful in every facet of the game.

Risto > Dahlin. He had more points.

I mean... you just listed a good comparable. KO's contract would really only be able to be moved for a Lucic, Neal, Eriksson, or Ryan type deal.

Which one of those are you taking back in exchange for KO? Who you smiling to add to the roster?

- JVince11

KO for Bobby Ryan.

Yea I’d look at that, if you could make Ottawa hold some salary to make it even.

Quite building strawmen. Botteril didn't have to trade Larsson and Girgensons, all he had to do was not agree to give them raises.

As far as sobotka, no one once has suggested he is tradeable. People just want him waived.

At some point these are Botts players, not Murray's. Botts brought in Hunwick and Sheary. He brought in Sobotka. He resigned the twins. He resigned Ellie and Rodrigues. That's 7 of your 12 free agents we need to wait until next year to get rid of before we can be good. Vesey makes 8.

It's so painfully obvious to anyone being objective.

I never once said I love everything the gm has done.

There are plenty of things that I shake my head at, two of which:

- Mitts not being in the the A last year to start
- Thompson not being in the A after a few months of garbage play

(frank) off to everyone that says this.

This is not how it works. I was a fan of this team long before this season. You don’t just get to turn it off.

I want you to go home to your wife and/or your kids and just say I didn’t like a decision you made so I’m just going to not participate in this family for the next year. I’ll be back when I feel like it.

That's actually a pretty dang well done photo. Jack eating wings is a nice touch. I had thought they had him smoking a cigarette at first.

You're right. That's exactly what I said.

NO I did not... People need to take Risto out of this box as some all-around stalwart saint of a player. He is not. He has flaws... but as soon as you put him in the right box as an offensive defensemen you will see the upside. Dahlin is obviously a better player you troll. I was just pointing out Risto's strengths.

If you want to judge someone on viewing D on points.... the last how many Norris winners won it because of offense????? You goign to tell me that Karlsson is a stud in his own zone? Hellllllll no. He adds his presence offensively.

Still people are saying these players are immovable.

Lucic was moved and he probably has one of the worst contracts in the league.

Good Gms find a way to shake up the roster.

- ImThatGuy

And they added a pick and retained salary and took back Okposo of the west. They saved no money or term and gave up a pick to do so.

When the value to shed Okposo exceeds his detriment to this team, he will be moved. Botterill won't bring in another garbage can.

Wow - smart comparable. That is life and family. No way shape or form can you this. Dumba$$ analogy.

If you get off on being so sour, keep it going. I will turn you off and that will be better for bot of us.

New projections just came out predict Buffalo to finish 28th in the NHL with 80 points.

Boy if that actually happens.

They did but I’d say the chance of James Neal bouncing back is far greater than Lucic being worth a sh!t.

It's exactly how it works. Hockey, football, baseball whatever you choose as your source of entertainment, you have the option not to watch it. Comparing a source of entertainment to raising a family may show that you just don't have your priorities set properly.

Okposo is what he is at this point, a 30ish point player.

He’s only owed $17 mil (had a $3 mil signing bonus that’s been paid), if you ate $2 mil and added a pick I think you could move him.

The only way he gets moved is if we take back the other team's okposo OR we toss in a first.

I can't imagine Botts being under pressure in any scenario. I think when they look at the bad management that plagued both teams for so many years they probably feel comfortable having good managers in both teams. Also, I'd bet that the ROR trade (the only move that really backfired, other than Phil) wasn't his doing. I think he has done a fine job and the results will be there.
