Me: I love this thing
Also me: I am unhappy with this thing.
Redneck local resident of WNY: iF yOu dON't LIkE iT YoU CAn leaVe!!!!
Hello. I am allowed to criticize both the things I do and don't love. I am allowed to be unhappy with something I love. I am allowed to voice that opinion and there is nothing wrong with me OBJECTIVELY saying: I am unhappy with this thing that I invest time and money into loving.
However, to then in response, tell someone the obvious: You don't have to watch it! Is by far one of the most profoundly ignorant things a human-being is possible of. I am literally on a discussion board, to discuss this thing I love, the Buffalo Sabres.
I will say this one time, in terms you can understand:
YOU DON'T HAVE TO RESPOND TO PEOPLE TELLING THEM THEY DON'T HAVE TO DO THE THINGS THEY'RE DOING WHEN THEY VOICE THEIR DISPLEASURE OF A PRODUCT THEY WANT TO ENJOY - AND DOING SO MAKES YOU SOUND LIKE AN INSUFFERABLE, ENTITLED JERK.
It also adds absolutely nothing of value to any discussion, ever. It's the verbal equivalent of taking your ball and going home because you didn't like losing in a game of P I G. You didn't like losing, so you left and went home and ruined the game for everyone with your horrible, miserable attitude that you project onto everyone around you because you're unhappy at home. And when you do go home with that ball, you realize why you're sitting there alone, even though you're "happily married".
Seriously. Act like an adult.
There are a lot of us unhappy with the product. There are a lot of us willing to be patient and roll with the punches. I certainly don't see any of us whom are down on this team absolutely lambasting the people who are happy with it by saying THEN WHY DON'T YOU GO AND BUY A TON OF MERCH AND TICKETS AND GO CHEER FOR YOUR TEAM WHICH YOU OBVIOUSLY LOVE SO MUCH!!!! PROVE IT!!! I BOUGHT MY DAUGHTER A MINIATURE PONY BECAUSE I CLEARLY LOVE HER MORE THAN FITZ LOVES HIS ROOT BEER!!!! I PROVE MY LOVE WITH MATERIAL OBJECTS, HOW ABOUT YOU????? YOU JUST EXPECT MEDIOCRE THINGS TO BE BETTER, SUCH A JERK!!! - BeadyEyedDouche

Another day another $h!T show.... - Slapjackzack
Last week: “Tage needs some time to season in the AHL with top 6 minutes”
This week: “how dare they send Tage down?!?!”
Bottom line is that power forwards take longer to develop and top 6 minutes in Rochester will do much more for his development than fourth line minutes in the NHL |

Tage has played over 40 AHL games and over 100 NHL games. He doesn't need seasoning. He needed one last shot or he is a bust. |

That’s short sided.
He’s already shown some progress. Why not put him in a position to succeed in the AHL playing top 6 minutes rather than setting him up to fail with the bottom 6? |

To be fair, it doesn't get much lower than the ground it was flipped over onto. |

No, it's piracy. But (frank) them. If they didn't make it so (frank)ing hard to watch less people would do it. |

I actually have spent the money on center ice now that I’ve moved to Texas.
Living in NY after they updated the mobile app to geo lock instead of IP lock made me use the illegal streams.
Blackout restrictions do nothing to promote the sport and are an archaic way to try and sell tickets. |

Exactly. Here's where I'm at: I pay taxes, I pay bills, I work, I stimulate the economy in the only ways I can. If I could pay for just ONE cable channel, it would be MSG, only to watch the Sabres.
You can't. I can pay for ONE internet, however, and I do. I'm not the one uploading or streaming these games. Me streaming, is technically not pirating. I am not downloading, uploading, copying or selling the content I'm watching. It's considered a "live performance" and falls into a grey area - the highest crime possible for streaming is a year in jail - it's not even a felony and it's not anything that "law enforcement" would come after anyone for unless they're the ones streaming.
Now, if I was downloading DVR'd games, that's piracy.
I'm not against piracy, either. If I hadn't illegally downloaded thousands of MP3's in my youth, I wouldn't listen to ANY of the music I listen to, and those bands wouldn't have gotten the merch and ticket sales they have from me. (frank) the record companies, (frank) Hollywood and television, (frank) corporations.
If capitalist society wants me to consume, make things affordable or pay me more, it's simple. If my pay was doubled tomorrow, I can guarantee you I would buy the hell out of all sorts of stuff I didn't need with that extra money.

Are ppl still all triggered if this is the forward lineup?
Olofsson-Jack-Sam
Skinner-MoJo-E Rod
Vesey-Mitts-Sheary
Girgs-Larsson-Okposo/Sobatka
Obviously still room for improvement
But i can live with that
Asplund, Smith & Tage pushing to be called up
Cozens & Routsalainen coming next year
Maybe we do miss the playoffs again this year
I just don’t see it as grimly as some of u guys
I think we are gonna win enough to make things interesting
And i think we’ll be more fun to watch
Go Sabres! |

Not to mention, the mess Botterill inherited from Murray is gone next year.
Every move with the exception of skinner and some prospects was done for short term contracts.
The plan is to slowly improve while erasing the poop show inherited from Murray and that’s been done.
Sure we may have lost the RoR and/or Kane trade but the argument can be made that they shouldn’t have been here yet in the first place and likely those orders came directly from the owners

I wasn’t shy about saying what a terrible return we got for ROR
But overall, i think we are moving in the right direction
We have a lot of young Center depth
And that was severely lacking since the Briere/Drury days
And idk that we’ve ever had defensive depth like this?
Botts is still molding this team
He’s not done yet |

I pay for Center Ice in Saint Louis and I think only 2 Sabre’s games were blacked out last year for being on NHL network, which is BS BTW |

It is what it is. We have one more year of bad contracts to eat. All the kids will get playing time with the big club at some point |

Agreed. I also pay for NHL TV, but my cable does not include NHL Network. Either the games on NHL Network should not be blacked out on NHL TV or better yet they should include the NHL Network with your NHL TV / Center Ice package. |

I too am not exactly thrilled with all the moves made after this pre-season. I hoped that there would be at least one surprise addition to the lineup and one underwhelming vet kicked to the curb to send a message. But, if the guys they sent down belong here over the vets they kept, it will work itself out over the next few months. I am still excited for tomorrow, we haven't seen this full lineup play together yet. |
