I don't see a 40 goal scorer or 80 point center on that 2015 roster.

Maybe you can point one out.

Why the focus on the 4th line? I don't get it.

The biggest problem that EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US identified last year was a lack of depth scoring from the middle 6.

He improved that.

Yes, there's still a hole at RW2.

One thing that I do find strange is that Pilut was sent down to Rochester, but Ukko Pekka-Lukkonen stays on the roster, which I assume means he goes on IR.

What's the point of that?

- buffalofan19

Roster technicalities. You can't reassign an injured player. Pilut ended the season in Roch and missed all of camp. He can stay on Roch's roster/IR. UPL played in Roch on an ATO, so he has to stay on Buffalo's roster until he is healthy. He'll be on season opening IR and his cap hit won't count.

CJ Smith is the one that bothered me the most.

The sabres are probably right. He probably wasn't good enough to make the team. He is probably a career AHL player. This was probably his last shot.

And you know what? It's their fault. Smith is an asset. This organization has done this with Mancari, with Bailey, with so many guys. You need to make a decision on a guy, he is your prospect. Either you trade him while he still has value, or you give him a shot. You can't just let them sit until they become worthless. He could have been traded two years ago for something, or he could be given a shot this year. What they have done is let an asset disappear for nothing.

I'm not disagreeing with you. The prospect pool is thin on the wings. We knew that after draft day.

Sprong doesn't change that at all because a. you have to keep him up on the NHL roster, and more importantly b. he sucks.

Boy, can't believe I'm saying this, but Pominville at 2RW would feel a lot better right now.

Too bad Botts spent all his money on ERod who is a healthy scratch, Ellie who didn't make the team, and the twins.

Sprong has done nothing that Okposo can't do.

Okposo at least has a well rounded game, despite his speed and diminishing offense. Sprong was thrown away. Twice. For heavily lacking that d game. Don't we already have Jim Vesey?

sprong got 14 goals in 47 games last season for a bad ducks team

equates to about 25 goals in a full season

how many wingers did we have get 25 goals again last season?

I mean our savior got 28 goals last season, and he half asses it on D

And that explains why the secondary ticket prices for the games after the home opener range from $10-15

It's clear they're going to have to go outside for help.

However, Olofsson is a stud prospect, until proven otherwise.

They have many center prospects, and clearly they ALL can't play there.

Remember when 4th liners and lack of waiver claims defined our season before it starts? I member.

apparently none can play here unless it's the one center prospect that should be playing wing because he can't hack it as a center

No cap space. Botts jammed himself up against the cap resigning his fourth line and extra forwards. He couldn't bring in anyone if he wanted to.

plenty cap space, players went on ir after final cuts

if the leafs are in compliance, surely we would have been adding the balding red head
